Melito’s, 8815 Three Chopt Road – The following violation was reported during a follow-up inspection: temperatures of turkey and tomatoes in prep unit are elevated.

China Panda, 8970 Quioccasin Road – The following violation was reported during a follow-up inspection: no dates found on cooked rice or noodles, cut cabbage or sweet and sour chicken.

JUNE 16

International House of Pancakes, 4840 S. Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed employees on the cookline touching glasses and mask, cracking shell eggs with gloved hands and then failing to change gloves and wash hands; observed a waitress scratch face and touch a clean plate without washing hands; sani-bucket levels are outside of recommended range; chlorine in dish machine is outside of recommended range; slicers and waffle makers found with dried food debris; observed heavily soiled wiping cloths on cookline; fan grates in walk-in cooler, floors on cookline, under equipment and floor drains are dirty; water is pooling near machine.

Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, 11829 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: observed build-up in soda gun nozzle at the bar; time was not marked for tomatoes and lettuce; observed small flies in the dish area; one light is out under each hood; walk-in fan guard is rusty; observed leak at the pre-soak dispenser; water and wet towels found in the bottom of the refrigerator unit at the bar; pass-thru shelving and walk-in fan guard are dusty; equipment at the cookline, fryers in particular, are greasy; observed debris on walk-in refrigerator racks; observed an abundance of cardboard on the ground in the dumpster area.

Toast, 7007 Three Chopt Road – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

JUNE 22

Country Style Donuts, 8902-B W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed person in charge washing equipment in front handsink and the water tube for the proofing box was draining in the back handsink (handsinks are for handwashing only); temperature of half-and-half in front reach-in is elevated; stick trap near back door is full and needs replacing; back door has a gap at the bottom allowing pests to enter; observed unfinished wood near the cash register; torn gaskets on proofing box; mops are incorrectly sitting on the floor instead of being hung to air dry; many areas need cleaning including the donut racks, roller racks, shelf under prep table, fans in the kitchen, inside proof box, mixers, grease trap under three-compartment sink, floors throughout, under fryer, hood filters above fryers, next to mixers, under dry storage racks, and near the grease trap; ceiling tiles in dry storage room are soiled; ceiling and fan in the back are very dusty; wall next to rolling trash can is soiled; observed holes in ceiling tiles in dry storage room and mopsink room; lights are out in the front.

Starbucks Coffee Company, 5001 Huguenot Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperature of sweet cream in pitcher on the counter is elevated; water pitcher is unlabeled; cups extend beyond sleeve of dispenser; facility does not have heat tapes or a maximum registering thermometer to check the dish machine; a piece of FRP has fallen off the wall.

Pho Tay Do, 6328 Rigsby Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility does not have a certified food protection manager; observed a worker washing hands in the three-compartment sink (use handsink only); menu fails to disclose that eye of round is raw; single-service containers are not being stored inverted; observed plastic bags being used to line refrigerator shelves; paper towels found on kitchen shelves; observed unfinished wood on slicer cart and temporary cover for mopsink; observed a leak at three-compartment sink and open waste below; caulking around handsink/wall juncture is soiled.

9 Mile Grill, 309 W. Nine Mile Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed food debris and build-up on slicer, containers in prep top, can opener blade, microwaves, cookline shelves, surfaces of cooking equipment, outside of refrigerator, countertops and shelves in walk-in cooler; temperatures of cooked potatoes and cooked onions are elevated; potato salad in container was held for more than 24 hours without a date mark; cooked onions prepared today are in a covered container in reach-in fridge; observed food build-up and debris on floors, walls and ceilings.
