Vampire Penguin, 11345 Nuckols Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: single-service spoons in bucket up front are not stored inverted; trash cans in the bathrooms do not have covers; mop incorrectly stored on the ground.

Sakura Japanese Restaurant, 9008 W. Broad Street – No violations reported during a follow-up inspection.

Deep Run Roadhouse, 12379 Gayton Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: handsink is missing soap; no signage observed at new handsink; fuel incorrectly stored with equipment; grease barrel and dumpster are incorrectly located on gravel/dirt; ceiling in storeroom is not smooth and cleanable.

Vinny’s Italian Grill & Pizzeria, 3434 Lauderdale Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: handsink is missing towels; raw ground beef burgers incorrectly stored on shelf above ready-to-eat foods; temperature of tomato sauce is elevated because it was not cooled properly; chemical shelf and legs of sink and shelves are rusty; wood cabinets/shelves have peeling paint; mixer splash area, floor drain and lower wall by the three-compartment sink need cleaning; observed build-up on exterior walk-in doors.

Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant, 11792 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: no sanitizer detected in dish machine in tasting room; temperature of steamed potatoes in steam table is too low because the steam table was not turned on; TCS foods on time control were not marked with a discard time; onion straws need to be added to time control policy; chemical spray bottles incorrectly stored next to uncovered single-service items; observed grease on sides and wheels of fryer and on floor under the fryer.

Arby’s, 11298 Patterson Avenue – No violations reported during a follow-up inspection.

European Taste, 10604 Patterson Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: pita bag is being reused for dough; drip tray needs cleaning; coving is missing at floor/wall juncture by three-compartment sink.

Country Club of Virginia Clubhouse, 709 S. Gaskins Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed debris in slicer ring guard; ice machine upstairs and downstairs contained pink/brown slime; temperatures of pimento cheese, hot dogs and lettuce in prep top near cookline are elevated; cooked meats found vacuum sealed in freezer without a written HACCP plan; unlabeled container of simple syrup found in bar area; unprotected tea bags found in dry storage room; plastic storage bins incorrectly stacked wet near three-compartment sink; single-service plates and trays incorrectly stored unprotected in dry storage area; metal skimmer near three-compartment sink is torn; top of blender is broken; observed broken light shield in downstairs walk-in cooler; observed build-up on tilt skillet; foil under stove top is dirty; wall behind three-compartment sink has mildew; observed debris on floor in between equipment; air vent in upstairs walk-in cooler is dusty; missing electrical outlet near bar area; observed low grouting near tilt skillet.

Dunkin Donuts, 3125 Lauderdale Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: water and various sugars in bins are unlabeled; boxes of food incorrectly stored on walk-in freezer floor; spoons found in standing water; milk crate improperly used as a shelf in walk-in freezer; display shelf is cracked; mopsink has incorrect backflow device for a spray hose; trash can in women’s restroom is not covered.

Pho Thien Phat 2, 9031 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed an employee drinking a beverage on the cookline; employees failed to wash hands after changing tasks and before handling food; both handsinks in the kitchen are missing paper towels; handsink near the dish machine is obstructed; no hand soap is available at handsinks; person in charge washed his gloves in the handsink (discard when soiled); prep tables where food is handled are not being sanitized; observed build-up and food on slicer; temperature of beef is too low because it was cooked and left out on the prep table at room temperature; temperatures of sprouts, cooked noodles, raw beef and garlic in oil are elevated (sprouts, cooked noodles and garlic in oil were left out at room temperature); tofu, cooked shrimp, noodles and rice in walk-in cooler do not have prep dates; butane cans incorrectly stored next to syrups in front drink station; cleaner incorrectly stored near spices in front of kitchen; several white powders are unlabeled; wet wiping cloths incorrectly stored on prep tables; racks in walk-in cooler, near the dish area and in the dry storage area are rusty; observed food debris on table in dry storage area and outside surfaces of equipment; bulk food containers in dry storage area are sticky; employee toilet needs cleaning; light is out under hood on cookline; observed broken floor tiles; ceiling tiles are missing in dry storage room; cold water knob on handsink near the dish machine is broken; ceiling/walls near cookline are stained; observed broken equipment, equipment not in use, and other unnecessary items in kitchen and storage areas.
