Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: open drink found on top of prep unit; observed employee handling raw meat then moving around kitchen rinsing dishes, opening prep units and prepping plates while washing hands only once; back handsink and sushi handsink are missing paper towels; observed raw steak incorrectly stored over vegetables/fruit and eggs incorrectly stored over prepped salads in the walk-in cooler; shield of ice machine has pink mildew; rice for hibachi and rice for sushi don’t have time marks; multiple spray bottles throughout the kitchen and dining room are unlabeled; observed paint cans and spray paint stored next to cookline and fryers with oil; Escolar is being sold as white tuna on the menu (label with proper name); food found incorrectly stored on the floor of the walk-in cooler and freezer; observed multiple wet stained wiping cloths on prep surfaces; observed heavy build-up on gasket of prep unit across from cookline; racks throughout kitchen are moldy and dusty; cookline has build-up of grease; observed grime and food build-up in units; three-compartment sink, mopsink and handsink by bathroom are all leaking; observed cracked or missing coving tiles throughout the facility; observed heavy grease build-up on walls and floors behind cookline; observed build-up of grime and old food behind dry storage shelves; build-up found under dish machine and three-compartment sink.

Penn Station East Coast Subs, 9320 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: fries are missing time marks; multiple spray bottles are unlabeled; observed build-up on gaskets, in units, on walls at three-compartment sink, and on racks in dry storage; observed food splatter on sides of cookline; food debris found under units and three-compartment sink; ceiling tiles are dusty and stained; observed low grouting under three-compartment sink and in dry storage area.

Elephant Thai Restaurant, 11676 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed disinfecting wipes incorrectly stored on shelf with utensils and packages of food; temperature of rice cooling in the walk-in is elevated because it is in a covered deep container; observed what appear to be mouse droppings in cabinets in the sushi area; ice scoop handle is in contact with ice; observed water damage to wood paneling under sink in front service area.

Saladworks, 7000 Forest Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperatures of lettuce and kale in low boy unit in front service line are elevated; racks in back kitchen are rusty.

Hurley’s Tavern, 4028-J Cox Road – No violations reported during a follow-up inspection.

Chipotle Mexican Grill, 7000 Forest Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperature of rice left out on the prep table is too low; observed debris outside of pans in front walk-in cooler, on hood system lights, outside of equipment under prep table on cookline, and on racks/shelves on front cookline and prep area; fan guards in walk-in cooler are dusty.

Bel Cibo Pizzeria, 201 Towne Center West Boulevard – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed open beverage stored next to sauces on shelf; observed employee wash hands at the prep sink; quat sanitizer at three-compartment sink is less than 150 ppm; temperature of cooked chicken in the walk-in is elevated; knife incorrectly stored in crevice between refrigerator units; to-go containers stored unwrapped and unprotected on shelf; quat test strips are unusable and in poor condition.

Jersey Mike’s Subs, 7000 Forest Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperature of sliced cheese in prep top unit is elevated; proper cooling methods not followed for lettuce prepared this morning; observed 2-3 small flies in back kitchen and in front of house; cutting boards in front of house are heavily scratched; observed debris in shelf in front of line, in between equipment on the cookline, on part of slicer stored on rack in front line, and on racks throughout; observed mold on low boy gasket on cookline; leftmost handsink in front service line is slow to drain; observed low grouting in back kitchen; walls are stained; debris found on floors under equipment and in walk-in cooler and freezer.

Chanello’s Pizza, 5239 S. Laburnum Avenue – No violations reported during a follow-up inspection.

Fat Boy’s Bar + Grill, 2 W. Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: hot water temperature at all handsinks does not reach 100 degrees; ready-to-eat foods (fresh fruit and rice pudding) incorrectly stored with raw animal products; sausage gravy in reach-in has elevated temperature three hours after being pulled from the hot holding unit; observed no asterisk next to items on both the breakfast and dinner menu that are served undercooked; wet wiping cloths found on prep surfaces; ice cream scoop handle is touching ice cream.

Bowl America—Short Pump, 4400 Pouncey Tract Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: green beans in the walk-in are past expiration date; chlorine sanitizer in wiping cloth bucket is above 200 ppm; no chlorine test strips are available.

Tropical Smoothie Café of Short Pump, 11736-C101 W. Broad Street – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: observed an accumulation of dust on shelving and monitor on the prep line.
