A look at how some Henrico restaurants fared on their most recent health department inspections.

DEC. 9

Cinnamonster, 10101 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed dead cockroaches under the storage rack and in the light covers on the ceiling; reach-in drink coolers are in disrepair; observed low grout throughout the kitchen; observed light in kitchen without protective cover.

Beth Sholom Gardens, 2001 Lauderdale Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: dishroom handsinks do not have soap or towels; light shield is cracked; observed leak from Pepsi ice bin and from dairy dish machine; observed peeling paint on many walls and a hole in the wall by the handsink; ceiling panels next to vents are soiled; light shield is missing; light above the prep table is insufficient.

Hibachi Sushi & Supreme Buffet, 8087 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed a rack on top of the handsink in back kitchen and sponges inside handsink in the prep area behind cookline (handsinks are for handwashing only); clam shell stock tags are not in chronological order; salmon box in walk-in freezer does not state that the salmon is parasite-free; observed raw chicken and raw shrimp incorrectly stored over cooked foods in reach-in unit next to prep table near the cookline; observed raw chicken incorrectly stored over soup, and raw calamari incorrectly stored next to wontons in the walk-in cooler; observed raw beef incorrectly stored over imitation crab in reach-in unit at the hibachi station; stained cheese cloth being used for sushi rice; observed knife and spoon with food debris stored clean in the prep area; observed build-up in tea nozzle in the service station in front of house; multiple white powders on the cookline are missing labels; observed an opening on bottom of both back exit doors; observed multiple dead flies hanging from multiple fly tapes in the back kitchen; condensation is dripping from hood area at the hibachi station of buffet and is close to the food that is stored on ice in that area; observed oil boxes incorrectly stored on cookline floor, and multiple food boxes incorrectly stored on walk-in freezer floor; knives found incorrectly stored in between crevices of equipment on the cookline; observed wet nesting of pans on a shelf on the cookline; observed uninverted whisks stored under the prep table and uninverted to-go trays at the sushi station; cutting boards on cookline and in the dish area are heavily scratched; observed rusty racks throughout the back kitchen; gap greater than one inch found on hood filters at the cook station; multiple refrigeration units in the kitchen have torn gaskets; observed debris in between equipment on the cookline, on hood filters, under fryer, inside plastic tubs in the dish area, on rack next to the dish area, on rack in walk-in cooler, on shelves at the sushi station, under grill, and in between equipment at the hibachi station; right faucet at three-compartment sink in dish area is leaking; faucets at prep sink behind cookline are leaking; handsink in back kitchen is slow to drain; mopsink doesn’t have a back flow prevention device; observed sprayer nozzle attached to hose and faucet in back kitchen; observed cracked floor tiles and low grouting throughout the kitchen; light shield in walk-in cooler is cracked; mop was not hung up to dry near mopsink in back kitchen; observed unused equipment in the back storage area; walls in dish area in the back kitchen and wall under prep sink in the back kitchen are stained; observed standing water behind ice machine (smelled like sewage); fan guards in walk-in cooler are dusty; ice found on pipes and around the door of the walk-in freezer; observed debris on floor corners of dry storage room, at the bar, and at the hibachi/sushi station; observed debris on walk-in freezer floors and on floors under counters/ice machine; observed stains on walls at the service station.

Taco Bell, 5811 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed pink mold on ice chute of soda dispenser in front dining area and build-up inside tea nozzles in front dining and drive-through areas; observed uninverted cups and to-go trays in drive-through area and on rack in back dry storage area; cutting boards on the line are heavily scratched; low boy unit on the line has a torn gasket; racks on chemical storage shelf are rusty; observed debris under fryers, on sides of equipment on cookline, on racks throughout the facility, on shelves in back kitchen, under soda dispenser in dining area, on hood filters on the cookline, on back of griddles, behind computer screen on the line, and on frying equipment racks in the dish area; observed stains on pipes under dispenser in drive-through area; cold water not available at handsinks in both employee restrooms; observed low grouting and cracked floor tiles in back kitchen; observed castoff/unnecessary items on shelf near exit door in back of facility; walls are stained throughout; ceiling vents on the line are dusty.

Noorani Kabab House, 2757 Hungary Spring Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed containers of tomato sauce uncovered in walk-in cooler; temperature of jalfrezi on the buffet is too low; observed a large pot of rice on the floor of walk-in cooler; multiple containers of white powder are not labeled; observed a leak from unit in walk-in cooler; observed light without protective cover.

Chick-fil-A, 10176 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: breading station is missing a door; coffee station table needs cleaning; floors need cleaning, especially under the thawing station; hood filters over fry station need cleaning.

Peter Chang, 11408 W. Broad Street – The following violation was reported during a follow-up inspection: observed a light out under the hood.

Trolley House Refreshments, Inc., 8501 Sanford Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: handsink in back prep room does not have paper towels; observed cloths stored in sanitizer with a concentration less than 150 ppm; one light under hood system is burned out; multiple wire racks throughout the facility are rusty; cutting boards on rack and at the sandwich unit are discolored/scratched.

Lebanese Bakery LLC, 6215 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: reach-in unit in the back kitchen has a torn gasket; cutting boards in back kitchen and dish area are stained.

Ginger Juice, 7021 Three Chopt Road – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: reach-in unit has torn gaskets; racks above and next to the prep area and across from the three-compartment sink are rusty; shelf next to the reach-in freezer is rusty; observed broken door handle (right) on sandwich unit; observed chipping paint on walls; observed chipping paint on ceiling tiles above and below the dish machine and below the three-compartment sink.
