A look at how some Henrico restaurants fared on their most recent health department inspections.

SEPT. 24

Tuckahoe Elementary School, 701 Forest Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed debris on can opener blade on the prep table near cook line; observed gaps greater than one inch on hood filters on the cook line; cracked wall and floor tiles found in bathroom and across from the handsink in employee restroom; observed chipped paint on floors of stock/dry storage room.

Deep Run High School, 4801 Twin Hickory Road – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

Longan Elementary School, 9200 Mapleview Avenue – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

Twin Hickory Elementary School, 4900 Twin Hickory Lake Drive – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: container of shredded cheese past the expiration date found in the walk-in cooler.

Tucker High School, 2910 N. Parham Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed icicles on pipes in the walk-in freezer; observed torn gasket on bottom middle reach-in unit; observed chipped floor tiles and low grouting on floors on the front service line and near the cash register; observed chipped paint on the floor in storage room.

SEPT. 29

Pizzaro, 9966 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperature of cheese sauce in the steam table is too low; observed uncovered light bulb in the kitchen.

Super 8 Motel, 7200 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: person in charge could not identify the “big six” reportable foodborne illnesses or their associated symptoms; the light over the food and utensil storage area does not have a protective cover.

Which Wich Superior Sandwiches, 2239 Old Brick Road – The following violation was reported during a follow-up inspection: green peppers were not cooled properly after prepping and before placing them in the make table.

Quioccasin Middle School, 9400 Quioccasin Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: hot water at handsink in the dish room only reached 85 degrees (100 degrees is required); turkey cheese subs were found with an elevated temperature; observed unlabeled detergent and blue liquid; ceiling is not smooth and cleanable.

Hermitage High School, 8301 Hungary Spring Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed debris and grease/food smudging on drawers at the prep tables; multiple floor tiles in the kitchen are cracked.

Varina High School, 7053 Messer Road – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

SEPT. 30

Shady Grove Elementary School, 12200 Wyndham Lake Drive – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: ceiling tiles are not smooth and easily cleanable.

Godwin High School, 2101 Pump Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: ice machine is not working; floor drain by the dish machine/booster is dirty; ceiling is not smooth and easily cleanable.

Holman Middle School, 600 Concourse Boulevard – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed dust on the walk-in fan guards; paint on the dish area wall is wearing off.

River’s Edge Elementary School, 11600 Holman Ridge Road – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: observed mildew on the wall near the dishwasher.
