A look at how some Henrico restaurants fared on their most recent health department inspections.

AUG 3

Sticks Kebob Shop, 1700 Willow Lawn Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed raw shrimp not cooked to a high enough temperature; observed wet nesting of plastic lexan pans on a rack next to the three-compartment sink; found a torn gasket in reach-in unit next to the grill and walk-in cooler; found rusty racks next to walk-in closet near ice machine; observed debris accumulation under grill on the cook line; sprayer nozzle in the dish area has a leak; observed chipping paint on walls throughout facility; observed debris on the floor in dry storage area next to water heater, under ice machine, and in floor corners in front service line.

Promise Care Child Development Center, 1515 Eastridge Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed hot dogs in kitchen reach-in unit at an elevated temperature; air temperature of reach-in in the kitchen and infant room found elevated; handsink in kitchen is slow to drain; observed cracked floor tiles in the kitchen.

Publix, 3460 Pump Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed ice bucket not turned upside-down at Starbucks; dishmachine needs repairing.

Vietnamese Deli Inc., 6215-A W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed an employee drink stored next to sauces on prep table in the kitchen; observed raw pork stored incorrectly in walk-in cooler; debris found on knives in the knife holder above three-compartment sink and inside patay mixer; Vietnamese ham and pickled mustard greens are missing dates; observed sliced ham in prep top unit at an elevated temperature and not cooled properly; multiple grab-and-go foods in reach-in units in front of facility are missing labels; observed a few live roaches in the dish area next to handsink and under the trashcan; observed spoons and labels stored incorrectly on prep table and rack in the dish area; observed wet nesting of pans on a clean rack in the dish area; rusty racks found throughout the facility; light bulbs are not working at the hood filters; walk-in cooler and reach-in freezer have torn gaskets; observed debris on racks on the hood filters, under the stove, in between equipment on cookline and in between gaskets in low boy unit; observed leak under handsink in the kitchen; observed debris on floors under equipment and stains on the ceiling in the kitchen; fan guards in the walk-in closet are dusty; observed cracked floor tiles and chipping paint on walls throughout the facility; observed a hole in the wall in dry storage area.

Pizza Hut, 9020-B Quioccasin Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed an opening on the bottom of back exit door; racks next to dishmachine are rusty; observed debris outside weigh scale and on racks and hood filters; observed debris on pipes behind fryers, on top of the dishmachine, on and above pizza oven, on bottoms of the reach-in freezer and on shelves throughout the facility; observed debris and grease on floors throughout, especially under equipment; observed stains and grease on walls and under and behind dishmachine; fan guards in walk-in closet and ceiling tiles where pizza oven is located are dusty; observed chipping paint on wall in employee restroom and holes in walls throughout the facility; observed FRP coming off wall edge next to reach-in freezer; ceiling tiles in employee restroom are not easily cleanable and need to be replaced.

Burger Bach, 2225 Old Brick Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: open drink found in the prep area; employee observed picking up dropped fries and proceeded to wipe counter and straighten area without washing hands and changing gloves; time control is not being tracked; no thermometer inside bar box holding cream; tray of “crisps” on a flat pan incorrectly stored on top a trashcan.

KickBack Jacks, 9318 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed ice in the handsink at the bar inside and cut fruit, straws and ice in the handsink at the outside bar (handsink is for handwashing only); found build-up of mold on ice shoot and on soda nozzle at bar area; observed lettuce, boiled eggs and tomatoes in the salad prep unit at elevated temperatures; observed shrimp, salsa and ribs in drawers at elevated temperatures; employee observed prepping plates with bracelets on wrists; multiple small flies found in dry storage area; observed some type of white liquid on the floor around the drain; racks in prep units by the fryers are dusty; dishmachine is leaking through worn caulking.

Captain D’s Seafood, 7607 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed food debris on utensils in the back storage rack; observed some dust and rust on metal rack above three-compartment sink; walk-in cooler floor is soiled and walls throughout the facility are stained; tiles are missing from the wall under the prep sink; multiple lights throughout the kitchen are missing protective shields. Daddio’s Grille, 12385 Gayton Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: wings and deli meat pulled from the freezer are missing dates; observed unlabeled sprayer; observed cardboard boxes being reused; one light in the hood is not working; observed standing water in the beer box and ice build-up in the freezer; observed a leak under the three-compartment sink at N/S bar.

Chipotle Mexican Grill, 11728 W. Broad Street – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: a few areas in the back of the kitchen have worn grout.
