JULY 14
Lilly Grace Child Care, 1908 W. Club Lane – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: did not observe a food thermometer for cold holding; found wooden cutting board that is not easily cleanable; observed chipping paint on wall.

Little Caesar’s, 7332 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: front handsink didn’t have paper towels; bulk ingredient bins were not labeled.

Los Comales Autentica Cocina, 7568 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: the facility’s CFPM credentials have expired; person in charge could not identify the big six reportable food borne illnesses; front handsink missing paper towels; observed can opener blade with an accumulation of old food debris and kick plate of ice machine had pink build-up; chemical dish machine was not sanitizing; cheese, rice, beans, pico, tomatoes and hot dogs in large cook line prep unit had elevated temperatures; horchata in back storage area was at an elevated temperature; working spray bottles of bleach water were not labeled; observed beef being improperly cooled; person in charge was using infrared thermometer to check food temperatures (metal stem thermometer is needed); bulk bin of maseca was not labeled; observed small flies at the mop sink; single service cups were being used and reused as scoops in bulk ingredient bins; observed heavily stained cutting boards with deep scratches; unsealed wood was being used as a food prep surface; large prep unit air temperature was elevated; observed dust and debris on metal shelves in back storage area; fryer cabinet in need of cleaning; observed condenser leaks in the meat/prepped food walk-in; back handsink cold water handle is loose, causing cold water to not be available; observed peeling ceiling in produce walk-in; back kitchen ceiling tiles are not smooth and easily cleanable; observed missing light shield over the dish rack.

KFC/Taco Bell, 8340 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed diced tomatoes at an elevated temperature; observed three containers of coleslaw in walk-in closet without date marks; observed multiple pieces of broken equipment in the kitchen; microwave in need of cleaning; sides and wheels of equipment on line need cleaning; observed condensate line of freezer dripping onto the floor; low grouting observed throughout the kitchen; floors throughout the facility, especially under the cookline, need cleaning.

Little Caesar’s, 9514 Woodman Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed sauce and cheese on the make table at elevated temperatures; observed mopsink with hose attachment below flood line with no backflow device; observed coving damage beneath three-compartment sink.

JULY 15

Starbucks Coffee Company, 11332 Nuckols Road – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: facility does not have an internal temperature measuring device for the high temp dish machine.

JJ’s Grille, 10298 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: gasket in low boy across from the stove is torn and taped up; wall in dish area is dirty.

McDonald’s, 11311 Nuckols Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed dark build-up on the ice machine kick plate; observed a chicken patty hot holding at an improper temperature; burrito mix in the walk-in and veggies in the low boy were improperly cooling; chemical dish machine was not working; rack in the pass-thru was soiled; observed sanitizer tubes at three-compartment sink leaking water; kitchen ceiling tiles are discolored; observed an area of peeling on the walk-in ceiling.

Sowing Seeds Academy, 2630 New Market Road – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

China Taste, 2623 New Market Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed coffee in a mug on the prep table; observed wet wiping cloths on cutting boards and prep tables.

JULY 16

Starling International Child Care, 1784 Starling Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed mixed vegetables on the stove at an incorrect temperature; observed uninverted metal pans on the rack in storage room; observed a heavily scratched cutting board.

Texas de Brazil Churrascaria, 11800 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed low grout and a cracked tile at the bar; observed cracked/chipped tiles in the kitchen and stairs at the meat station.

Jing Sushi, 7019-G Three Chopt Road – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: observed debris on racks next to the reach-in unit, in between equipment and under fryers in the back kitchen; observed debris on floors and walls on the cookline; sushi display case was unhooked for repair.

JULY 17

Hardee’s, 8211 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: tomatoes in prep unit and half-and-half at front reach-in were at elevated temperatures; no ambient air thermometer at front reach-in unit; reach-in unit in the back had an elevated ambient air temperature; observed encrusted debris on sides of fryer and grill; observed floors in need of cleaning, especially under the cookline and in the biscuit area; observed low grout throughout the kitchen and missing tiles in the dining room entryway; hood filters need cleaning.

Pop’s Dogs & Ma’s Burgers, 7301 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed tomatoes and hot dogs in the prep unit at elevated temperatures; observed small reach-in freezer in need of defrost.
