A look at how some Henrico restaurants fared on their most recent health department inspections.
JUNE 16
Angela’s Ristorante, 425 N. Ridge Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed debris on slicer blade on prep table in the kitchen; observed different salts and condiments uncovered on shelves on the cook line and beer stored directly on the floor in walk-in cooler; observed rusty racks in walk-in cooler and in the dish area; torn gaskets observed in multiple low boy units and ice accumulation on bottom of the reach-in freezer; observed uninverted to-go trays on cook line shelves; several cutting boards found heavily scratched; observed debris on the side of the grill/stove, in between equipment on the cook line, on racks on the cook line and dish area, in between gaskets on the cook line, on outlets on the wall in the back kitchen in dish room and under the expresso machine in front of house; observed leak at the faucet at the three-compartment sink; observed hole in the wall under the prep table and discoloration/deteriorating of wall in the bar area; observed cracked floor tiles on the cook line.
JUNE 17
Sushi Hibachi Bistro, 10490 Ridgefield Parkway – No violations reported during follow-up inspection.
Kabab House, 3411 Old Parham Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed oven cleaner spray incorrectly stored; marinated chicken found cooling in deep containers instead of shallow pans; observed foods stored on the floor of the walk-in cooler; observed uninverted to-go trays on prep table near the walk-in cooler; observed boxes of single service items stored on the floor in front service area and in dry storage room; observed water pooling on the bottom of the reach-in unit and prep top units; rusty racks found in back kitchen and walk-in cooler; observed debris throughout the kitchen and dust on the fan guard in the walk-in; observed handsinks slow to drain throughout the facility; observed cast off items in mop sink room; observed leak coming from the ceiling and baseboards coming off in back kitchen; observed chipping/scratched paint on wall throughout.
New Asian Panda, 10430 Ridgefield Parkway – No violations reported during follow-up inspection.
Eat 33, 6901 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: dried residues found on food containers on the dish room rack; drawer of utensils next to the small prep unit had crumbs and splatters throughout; observed foods in the small prep unit’s low boy near the stove at incorrect temperatures; found pinto beans past expiration date; date mark missing on corn bread and mashed potatoes; observed a bird’s nest residing in the shuttered window or vent of the back storage room; observed rust on the silver rack in the walk-in; observed low boy section of the small prep unit by the stove not maintaining a correct temperature; two cutting boards have frayed edges and deep scratches; dust observed on walk-in fan guard and debris caught in the linings/grooves of the gaskets throughout the refrigeration units; observed faucet leak in handsink; wet mop head stored incorrectly; black trim at the bottom of the walls has started peeling away in multiple spots in the kitchen; ceiling tiles are discolored by age; center light shield of the kitchen was observed to be warped on one side, causing openings to be created where a broken light bulb could fall through.

JUNE 18
Red Salt, 12221 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: a tea urn observed uncovered; interior of the ice machine has mildew; slicer found soiled; rice observed at incorrect temperature because it was not reheated properly; saute had elevated temperatures; sprayer observed unlabeled; cleaners and spray bottle not stored properly; bar equipment found in standing water; burned light under hood needs replacing; glasses stored on linen at the bar; interior of fryer cabinets and exterior of grinder found dirty; floor behind dishmachine in need of cleaning; observed holes in the wall beside back handsink.
Thai Flavor Food & Noodle, 4024-D Cox Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: paper towels missing at handsink by the ice machine; observed uncovered raw chicken in prep refrigerator; moldy build-up found inside soda gun nozzle, but it is not currently being used; observed several cutting boards heavily scratched.
Mi Jalisco, 10482 Ridgefield Parkway – No violations reported during a follow-up inspection.
Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers, 4231 Pouncey Tract Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: no CFPM certificate viewed during inspection; employee in charge could not identify the “big six” reportable food borne illnesses; observed drops of water falling from the ceiling vent in front of the walk-in door.
Rose Marie Inn, 8923 Patterson Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: no certified food manager; missing towels at back handsink; raw eggs stored improperly; observed food residue on slicer; packs of turkey and ham observed above other pans inside the make table; no dates found on open deli meats, cooked sausage, potatoes and hash; food crumbs observed in interior freezer; shelves under microwave table and under toaster/steam table are soiled; inside beer box in need of cleaning; debris observed on toaster crumb trays; bar floor has spillage and pipes to bar 3-c are dirty; observed build up on hood filters.
JUNE 22
Sumo Sushi Express, 1090 Virginia Center Parkway – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: observed raw fish incorrectly stored in the reach-in unit.
Dragon Treats Dessert Café, 1404 N. Parham Road, #T109-A – No violations reported during a routine inspection.
Target, 11290 West Broad Street – No violations reported during a routine inspection.
Noodles & Friends, 9035 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: disposable towels not provided in dispensers at two of the handsinks; observed dried food on can opener blade; observed rice at incorrect temperature; in-use knives improperly stored in a crevice between the wall and prep table; observed several single cutting boards with heavy scratches and stains; observed heavily soiled hood filters and oil dripping from the system.
Domino’s Pizza, 8703 W. Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed dried food debris inside containers storing utensils; mold found on the fan grate in the walk-in; observed dust and food debris on surfaces of the pizza oven.
