Shoredog Café, 435-B North Ridge Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: employee handled avocados without gloves on; temperatures of cooked potatoes and cooked turkey sausage are too low; temperatures of sliced tomatoes, mayo, ham and beef in reach-in are elevated; reach-in unit is not maintaining foods at the proper temperature; turkey bacon in lowboy is past its expiration date; utensils are being stored in between prep unit and wall; utensils are being stored in a sanitizer solution; dry storage racks above prep table are rusty; gaskets on lowboy under window are torn; cutting board at prep table is scratched and stained; person in charge couldn’t provide test strips for quat sanitizer; chains of heat lamp, spice shelves, slicer and top of water heater are dirty; light is burned out above prep station.
Deca’s Café LLC, 391 Azalea Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: staff restroom doesn’t have paper towels or a trash can with lid; pita bread in walk-in cooler is moldy; dried food debris found on can opener blade; used hunk of meat in walk-in cooler is not date marked; cutting boards are scored and stained; walk-in cooler fan guards are dusty; observed food debris and liquid on dry storage racks; walk-in cooler storage racks are moldy; there is chipped paint on the wall and a hole in the wall under dish machine; there is damaged/missing floor tile in dry storage area.

DQ Grill & Chill, 807 East Parham Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: person in charge couldn’t verify employee health training; coffee cup stored on prep table; back hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; observed residue buildup inside ice machine; prep unit behind counter isn’t working; fryer baskets are bent; observed dried food debris and grime on floors in all walk-in units and on floors under equipment.
Poseidon Boil, 9127-R West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: there is 0 ppm chlorine at dish machine; temperatures of boiled corn and potatoes in steamer table are too low (steamer table was turned off); temperature of boiled corn in pot on cook line is too low; temperature of heavy cream on cooktop is elevated; pill bottles stored on shelf at cook line; bottles of drain cleaner stored next to corn starch on spice shelf; tuna is thawing in reduced oxygen packaging in prep unit; chicken is thawing in a bowl of standing water in four-compartment sink; large bins containing white powders are unlabeled; boxes of food are stored directly on walk-in freezer floor; rice scoop is stored in an empty cup between rice warmers; Pepsi cups are stacked while still wet next to soda machine; to-go containers are stored uninverted on shelf above prep top; single-service plastic containers without handles are being used as scoops in bulk food containers; fryer basket wires are bent.
Waffle House, 7109 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: raw shell eggs stored over milk in four-door cooler; temperatures of ham, sliced tomatoes and hash browns in prep unit are elevated; racks in back kitchen reach-in cooler are rusty; observed grime on silverware cart in dining area; observed food debris in gaskets of four-door cooler; dumpster side door was left open.
Cook Out Restaurant, 4300 South Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: gasket on freezer door is broken; walk-in wire storage racks are rusty; observed heavy mold buildup on gasket of walk-in refrigerator; there is dust/grime buildup on wire storage racks in dry storage area.
Longhorn Steakhouse, 4409 South Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: interiors of microwaves on prep line are soiled with grease and food debris; fryer baskets are broken and bent; chicken grill drawer has a torn gasket; storage racks are rusty; light bulbs are out in hood system; multiple single cutting boards are heavily scarred and stained; observed grease buildup on sides of hot line equipment and on prep shelf; there is food debris buildup on gaskets of grill drawers; observed heavy dust buildup on monitors, cables and touchpads; floor tiles in walk-in and at mop sink are cracked; there are areas of low grout in prep area and along cook line; observed heavy food debris and grease buildup beneath prep units on cook line; there are food splatters and discoloration on walls next to cook line.
Dunkin’ Donuts, 4869 Nine Mile Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have a certified food protection manager on staff; front hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; back hand sink is backed up with brown liquid; drain is covered by paper towel; men’s restroom doesn’t have hand soap; temperature of egg patties in warming unit is too low; rubber door gaskets on both walk-in cooler and freezer are torn; ceiling tile is missing; back door is damaged at base; drive-thru reach-in cooler door gasket is torn; several items/areas are dirty (donut display racks, drive-thru reach-in cooler interior and exterior, and reach-in cooler drawer gaskets); observed food stains, food debris and food residue on sides of prep tables, reach-in coolers and turbochefs; food debris, flour and sugar found on speed rack in kitchen; walk-in cooler wire racks are dirty and dusty; walk-in cooler fan guards, ceiling tile near ventilation and ceiling ventilation grate are dusty; three-compartment sink floor drain is dirty and stained brown.

Performance Pickleball RVA, 8641 Quioccasin Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: bar dish machine has 0 ppm chlorine; multi-quat sanitizer concentration in sanitizer bucket at bar is too low; knife is stored in between prep table and another table; cutting board at prep table is scratched and stained.
Pho New York, 6420 Horsepen Road – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: facility doesn’t have a certified food protection manager on staff; shell eggs are stored over produce; mold found inside ice machine; cutting boards are heavily scored and stained; food is stored in grocery store plastic bags; observed grease buildup on sides of cooking equipment; shelves under hot line equipment and prep table are dirty; observed food stains on walls throughout kitchen, particularly near three-compartment sink and hand sink; there are cracked floor tiles throughout restaurant (front of house, dry storage area and kitchen).
Capriccio Pizza, 9127-A West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: employee drink cup found on prep unit cutting board; hand sinks don’t have handwash signage posted; staff restroom doesn’t have paper towels; temperatures of shredded mozzarella, tomato sauce and sausage in pizza prep unit are elevated; no date marks found on chicken, tomato sauce or shredded mozzarella in walk-in cooler; dough is stored in a non-food grade black garbage bag in walk-in cooler.
India K’ Raja Restaurant, 9051-55 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperatures of half-and-half and yogurt found sitting out on counter are elevated; no date marks found on lamb, chicken, rice, chickpeas or spinach in reach-in coolers; masala and cooked mixed vegetables are past their expiration dates; observed buildup on foil-lined cart on cook line; food debris found on shelf under grill; vent on bottom of cook line reach-in cooler has dust buildup; ceiling panels in dry storage room are torn; there is low grouting at cook line floor.

Bonefish Grill, 11251 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed staff touch hat/hair restraint with gloved hand and then continue preparing food without washing hands; there is no handwash signage posted for employees in restrooms; bar hand sink is being used as a dump sink; person in charge couldn’t provide parasite destruction letter from salmon provider or identify the species of tuna being served raw; food debris found inside microwaves and on immersion blender piece stored clean; observed buildup on base of beverage station soda dispensers, sliding door and base of ice chest under soda dispenser; temperature of cooked trout is too low; temperatures of tuna, lettuce and cheese in cooler near deep dryers are elevated; reach-in cooler near deep fryers is icing over and not holding food at the proper temperature; there is no discard time marked on flour by deep fryer; bottles of cleaning supplies are stored next to food on hot line; cutting boards are scored; observed buildup of grease on sides of cooking equipment; walk-in cooler fan guards and ceiling are dusty; floor fan on hot line is greasy and dirty; chest freezer is dirty; outdoor dumpster lid was left open; there is a leak at the hand sink near the oven (faucet is loose); mop isn’t hung to air dry; the storage area/enclosure for refuse, recyclables or returnables is not maintained free of unnecessary items and/or clean; wall behind three-compartment sink has mold/mildew on it; wall behind and underneath dish machine has mold/mildew, food debris and food stains on it; lighting is dim on the cook line.
Tropical Smoothie Café, 1513 North Parham Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: back hand sink is blocked by a rolling cart; temperature of portioned kale salad in prep table is elevated because it is stored above the fill line in bin; several items/areas are dirty (bottom of smoothie prep table lid, back lip of smoothie prep table, outside of turbinado bin, and seal where gaskets meet unit of all lowboys); walk-in freezer floor is dirty and has debris built up.
Richmond Volleyball Club, 2921 Byrdhill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: person in charge couldn’t provide written procedures for cleaning up vomit or diarrhea; pizza sauce isn’t date marked; spray bottle containing a clear liquid isn’t labeled; observed grease and food buildup on oven; gaskets and surrounding area of three-door reach-in freezer are dirty; faucets are leaking at hand sink in prep area and at two-compartment sink.
