Anant Cuisine of India, 4348 Pouncey Tract Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: employees are rinsing hands in three-compartment sink instead of using hand sinks; kitchen hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; can of Butane found stored alongside food ingredients; employees with long chin hair are not wearing beard guards; take-out containers are stored uninverted; shelves surrounding cooking equipment are covered in aluminum foil; fryer baskets are in disrepair; cutting boards on cook line are scratched and stained; mop isn’t hung to air dry; light above cook line doesn’t have a protective shield; several items are dirty (interior shield of ice machine, racks in reach-in units, racks in walk-in refrigerator, walk-in ceiling, racks holding dry ingredients and racks holding dry equipment).

Panera Bread, 9080 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperatures of hummus, romaine, sliced tomatoes and pulled chicken are elevated; containers on shelf in dish pit are stacked while still wet.

KFC, 4821 Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: drive-thru hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; reach-in unit is broken; wire racks in walk-in are rusty; breading basket is broken; used sheet pans are pitted with food debris on them; observed food debris buildup on prep line, inside units, in bottom of reach-in freezer, in chicken hot holding units and in between warmers; observed grease buildup on all wire racks in kitchen and behind fryers; there is build up on cooling racks in walk-in unit; mop sink with hose under pressure doesn’t have a dual check valve installed; there is a leak at three compartment sink’s connector to sanitizer; there are areas of standing/pooling water within prep areas and walk-in fridge; observed flour and grease buildup on hood; ceiling tiles are old; AC vents are dusty; observed food debris and waste under drive-thru counter and at floor drains; walk-in fridge floor is cracking and uneven.

Bojangles, 11 South Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: trash can is blocking fry area hand sink; back hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; temperatures of chicken tenders and thighs on serving line, rice in drive-thru hot well, mashed potatoes and country fried steak are too low; observed dried food debris, grease and/or flour buildup inside and outside deep fryers, flat top grill, outside of flour bins, cooler and freezer gaskets throughout kitchen, hand sinks throughout kitchen, walk-in cooler wire racks, bottom of beverage cooler by drive-thru, interior and exterior of two reach-in coolers, and dust pans hanging near mop sink; observed food stains and grease on walls by three-compartment sink, dry storage area, drive-thru hot holding unit, behind hot line equipment and breading station and on floor under hot line equipment; there is ice on walk-in freezer floor; there is flour on walk-in cooler floor; trash found in prep sink floor drain; light shields throughout kitchen are dusty; there is a crack in the floor in front of the hot line.

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, 12010 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: cook placed raw shrimp on the grill and changed gloves but didn’t wash hands; person in charge didn’t wash hands before putting on gloves; person in charge touched lettuce in the refrigerator with bare hands; hand sink at the bar is being used to pre-wash glasses (hand sinks are for handwashing only); temperatures of pico, meatballs and stewed tomatoes in saute unit and bacon jam and sausage in other units are elevated; saute unit at cook line isn’t holding foods at the proper temperature; observed ants on the floor in dish pit and small flies throughout the restaurant, especially at the bar near soda guns; cook removed hair restraint; food storage containers are stacked while still wet; cutting boards, especially small green one at the bar, are heavily scratched; facility couldn’t provide an irreversible maximum temperature registering device for the high temp dish machine at the bar; mop sink with spray nozzle under pressure doesn’t have a dual check valve installed.

Bowlero—West End, 8037 Shrader Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: employee food found on cutting board at serve line; there is brown buildup on plastic panel inside ice machine and inside soda dispenser nozzles; wire racks inside back kitchen lowboy unit are rusted; observed buildup on cart next to pizza oven and under roller racks on pizza oven; encrusted cheese found on pizza pans stored on wall; walk-in cooler door is lifted on interior side; there is a hole in the wall near soda dispenser at serve line.

My Favorite Muffins, 10174 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: prep area hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; an employee rinsed scoops in prep sink and hung them on a clean rack without sanitizing them first; temperature of milk at self-serve counter is elevated; several items (cream cheeses and muffin batters) in the walk-in cooler do not have the correct discard date on them; menu doesn’t contain a consumer advisory statement for smoked salmon that may be served raw and/or undercooked; prep unit and single cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained; unisex bathroom doesn’t have a covered trash can; mops are not hung to air dry.

Firehouse Subs, 8191-A Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperatures of several meats and sliced tomatoes in prep unit and three-door lowboy on the line are elevated; observed buildup around gaskets and handles of three-door lowboy unit.

Sun Top’s China, 5660 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: pan found in hand sink; can opener blade is soiled; temperatures of chicken, BBQ pork and ribs in the prep unit are elevated; most foods in reach-in cooler and walk-in cooler are not date marked; no time marks found on noodles or chopped cabbage on prep counter; white powders on cook line are unlabeled; chlorine sanitizer level in sanibucket for wipes is at 0 ppm; knives are stored in dirty crevice between prep unit and prep counter; ice scoop handle is submerged in the ice machine; cutting board at prep unit is heavily scratched and stained black; observed food and grease buildup on sides of wok station, sides of prep unit and on racks in reach-in cooler; there is grease buildup on hood; floor tiles near three-compartment sink are cracked.

KanPai Japanese Steakhouse, 11964 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: food containers found in hand sink at sushi bar; raw meat is stored over uncovered buckets of teriyaki sauce in walk-in refrigerator; spray bottle containing blue liquid chemical is unlabeled; fish in sushi bar is thawing while inside vacuum sealed packaging; white powdery substance on cook line is unlabeled; prep unit has a torn gasket; linen napkins are lining cart shelves in kitchen; cloth linens are lining bottom of beer chest; cutting boards on prep line are scratched and stained; several areas/items are dirty (reach-in rack and vent, walk-in racks and floor, ceiling vents in kitchen, racks holding dry ingredients, shelf above prep table and racks in dishwash area); dumpster area is dirty and surrounded by trash and loose debris; mops are not hung to air dry.

Davinci, 4933 Nine Mile Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: dried food debris found inside microwave; facility doesn’t have a food thermometer; grease residue found on sides of hot line equipment; flour is caked on side of pizza cooler; several items/areas are dirty (pizza dough reach-in cooler interior, pizza station lowboy cooler interior and door gaskets, reach-in freezer door gaskets, and Pepsi cooler interior and door gaskets); there are food stains and black mold on wall behind three-compartment sink; wall behind hot line is greasy; dried food stains found on pizza area walls.

Burger King, 3720 Mechanicsville Turnpike – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: hand sink doesn’t have hand soap; observed multiple flies in the restaurant, possibly because back door was left open; several employees with long hair are not wearing hair restraints; cooler door gaskets throughout kitchen are dirty; observed grease residue and dried food debris on front and bottom of hash brown/fry warmer; observed dried food debris on warming unit shelves; walk-in cooler door has black stains and mold on it; outdoor dumpster doesn’t have doors; floors and wall behind deep fryers are greasy; ceiling tiles throughout kitchen are stained and dusty; ceiling vents throughout kitchen are dusty; mop sink area walls and floor drains throughout kitchen are dirty; there are food stains on walls in drive-thru area, prep area and behind three-compartment sink; there are damaged wall tiles in dry storage area and next to bag in box system; there are cracked floor tiles in front of dry storage area and at front counter area; floor is raised up at front counter area.

La Barrita, 8711 Shrader Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have a certified food protection manager; several ceiling panels are stained; ceiling panels are not smooth and easily cleanable.

Mi Mariachi Restaurant and Night Club, 3112-A Northside Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; black residue buildup found inside ice machine; sanitizer concentration at dish machine is at 0 ppm; refried beans cooked this morning are covered during the cooling process; observed mice droppings under counter at bar.

Torque Club at Richmond Raceway, 600 East Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: deep fryer baskets and skimmer are in disrepair; one light is out in the hood system.

Burger King, 1013 Parham Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility couldn’t provide employee health policy; observed food debris and grease buildup inside oven; black mold-like substance found inside ice machine; mop sink with spray hose and nozzle under pressure doesn’t have a dual check valve installed; monitors are dusty; there is grease on the cook line.
