Red Lobster, 8009 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: plastic container found in bar hand sink; temperature of diced tomatoes on ice bath at serve line is elevated; spoons at ice cream station are stored uninverted; plastic containers are stacked while still wet; plastic slider on ice machine is cracked; freezer door under biscuit warmer is unable to fully close; lowboy next to grill has a torn gasket; one light bulb is out at hood; observed buildup on gaskets, interior wire racks and exterior hinges on lowboy units on cook line; observed heavy dust buildup on portable fan; there is a leaky pipe under dipper well on cook line and a leaky faucet at bar hand sink; there is a leak under sink at dish machine; floor tiles in walk-in freezer are cracked; there are holes in the wall behind grill; ceiling vent near office is rusty; mop isn’t hung to air dry; several items/areas are dirty (floors under and behind units on line, floor and wall next to dish machine, and wall behind ice cream station); ceiling vents throughout kitchen are dusty; light bulbs and suppression nozzles are greasy.

Al-Modina Restaurant, 10188 West Broad Street – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

Baker’s Crust Artisan Kitchen, 11800 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: fry cutter has food residue; food debris found on metal rack stored clean; sanitizer concentration at bar dish machine is too low; temperatures of mac and cheese sauce, alfredo sauce and raw shrimp in saute refrigerator are elevated; temperatures of mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, lettuce and portioned chicken in pizza unit are elevated; bulk flour bin is unlabeled; mouse droppings found in back room and dead roaches seen in glue traps (facility’s harborage conditions need to be addressed in addition to pest control treatments); some storage containers are cracked; some cutting boards are heavily scratched; there is dirty water on bottom of keg unit at bar; walk-in cooler fan guards are dusty; there is a leak at dish spray hose faucet; a dual check valve is not installed (it has been ordered); there is damaged coving, grout and walls.

Kuba Kuba Dos, 403-B North Ridge Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: open drink cups found on prep tables next to food; an employee handled dirty dishes and failed to change gloves before handling clean dishes; a bar employee cut limes intended for drink garnishes bare handed; the date when last mussels or clams from the container is sold or served isn’t recorded on tags; dried food debris found on slicer; temperatures of mango salsa, tomato sauce, pork, beans, salsa and top portion of lettuce in prep unit and walk-in cooler are elevated; sanitizer spray bottles are unlabeled; metal wires are breaking and bending on fryer baskets; wire storage racks in walk-in cooler are rusted; prep and single cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained; observed dried food debris, dust and grease buildup on surfaces of all wire storage racks and carts, spice shelves, bulk spice bottles, vegetable crates, dishwash racks, coffee grinders, interior of keg coolers, and utensil holder at bar; observed old labels still on plastic containers; observed food debris and grime on floors at bar and in kitchen; wall behind dish machine is moldy.

Sportsman’s Restaurant & Lounge, 3306 Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have a certified food protection manager; bar hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; raw pork chops stored over onions and raw chicken breast stored over various ready-to-eat foods; dried food debris found inside microwaves; food debris found on can opener blade; green beans, bacon, pork chops and potato salad are all past their expiration dates; chicken salad, potato salad and noodles are not date marked; facility doesn’t have a food thermometer to measure both hot and cold temperatures; cutting board is scratched; hood systen and sides of cooking equipment are greasy; floor fan in kitchen is dusty; reach-in freezer door gaskets and keg cooler door gaskets are dirty; there are food stains and grease on wall behind three-compartment sink and hot line.

Rollerdome, 4902 Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: soda refrigerator gasket is torn; counter under snow cone machine has chipping wood/paint; drying rack above three-compartment sink is dirty; floor next to warm has an open hole from a leak being repaired.

Rusty Taco, 11525 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: hand sink by prep area doesn’t have paper towels; interior and exterior of tortilla chip warmer is greasy and dirty; mold found inside ice machine; bar area soda gun and walk-in cooler wire racks dirty; observed dried food debris on vegetable chopper blades, tongs, scoop and avocado cutter; pesticides are being stored in the kitchen; bulk container of rice is unlabeled; observed fruit flies throughout the kitchen; to-go trays are stored uncovered and uninverted; observed heavy grease buildup on sides of hot line cooking equipment; interior and exterior of in-use reach-in cooler and out-of-use reach-in cooler are dirty and greasy; water is pooling at the bottom of the reach-in cooler; outdoor dumpster doors were left open; floor sealant is cracking and peeling off the floor near hot line and prep sink; hot line floors are greasy; walls behind hot line are greasy and dirty; dried food debris found on dish pit walls.

Longhorn Steakhouse, 11311-A West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: empty sanitizer bucket found in hand sink; sanitizer concentration at dishwasher is 0 ppm; all ice machines have black debris lining the interiors; soda nozzle behind small bar line is dirty; bulk flour bin is unlabeled; insect control device stored at the end of the cook/prep line; employee with beard isn’t wearing a beard guard; sheet pans holding prepped foods are cracked and dented; long cutting boards along prep line, small cutting boards and bread boards have deep scratches; knives stored in between two cooking units; several items/areas are dirty (hood filters, shelves, front of prep line, yellow bin, beer chest bottom, refrigerator unit vents and interiors, oven unit racks, hanging racks, sides of cooking units, drain and drain pipe coming from prep sink, walls near and top of dishwasher, point-of-sale machines and cables, soap and towel dispensers, inside potato warmer, inside can cooler, product rolling carts, bulk storage bins, oil container, grate under ice machine, ceiling vents, and bread and potato racks); some floor tiles are broken.

Mariscos El Barco, 6409 Rigsby Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: utensils found in hand sink; dirty knives are stored clean; sanitizer level in dish machine is at 0 ppm after several runs; a wiping cloth is in contact with empanadas in the walk-in cooler; to-go containers are stored on a dirty and greasy shelf; metal wires are bending and breaking on fryer baskets; wire racks in walk-in cooler are heavily rusted; single and prep cutting boards are heavily scratched; observed dust and grease buildup on surfaces of prep shelves, interiors of reach-in coolers, wire racks in walk-in cooler, shelves near burners, microwaves and under grill; floor in back room near walk-in cooler isn’t sealed; there is dust buildup on ceiling and vents above prep unit and in dish area.
