Hardee’s, 1120 East Nine Mile Road – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: observed dried soda stains, mold and dust on soda machine dispensers throughout kitchen; deep fryers have heavy grease buildup underneath and inside service door; wire storage racks in center of kitchen are greasy, dusty and dirty; observed grease buildup and food debris on floors behind/underneath large cooking equipment (deep fryers and refrigerators).

International House of Pancakes, 9820 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperatures of crepes on make table and diced tomatoes on service line are elevated; dish racks are not smooth and easily cleanable; observed grime buildup inside fryer cabinet and food debris on exterior of six-burner; fan on cook line is dusty; spray sink in dish room and mop sink faucets have leaks; dish area floor, floor at three-compartment sink and floor corners throughout kitchen are dirty; dish hood is rusty; ceiling panel is out of place above cook line.

Chianti Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria, 1304 Gaskins Road – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: facility doesn’t have a certified food protection manager; raw veal stored next to cooked turkey; raw ground beef stored over salmon; cutting boards on the line are dirty; turkey and pasta salad are past their expiration dates; no date marks found on cooked eggplant or lasagna; shrimp and squid are thawing at room temperature; shelving is rusty; drip tray, keg box interior and bar floor are dirty; some ceiling panels are not smooth and easily cleanable.

Jack’s Place, 1881 Darbytown Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have a certified food protection manager; dishes found stored in two hand sinks, which are for hand washing only; dried food debris found inside microwave; bag of onions stored directly on dry storage floor; cutting boards used in kitchen are stained and scratched; dish drying wire rack is dirty/greasy; double-door reach-in cooler interior and exterior and Coke brand reach-in cooler interior are dirty; sides of cooking equipment have grease buildup; double-door reach-in cooler gaskets are dirty and top of the unit is dusty; there are food stains on floors and walls throughout the kitchen; floor tile near kitchen entrance is damaged; kitchen floor and floor coving are dirty, especially in corners; hood filters are very greasy and dirty.

Einstein Brothers Bagels, 5607 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: improper cooling methods observed for sausage patties in make table and cooked spinach in walk-in cooler; observed a drip inside walk-in; exteriors of all three walk-in doors are soiled.

Hong Kong Kitchen, 2907 Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: raw chicken stored over tofu in walk-in cooler; sugar, salt, MSG and flour on cook line and in dry storage bulk containers are not labeled with the common name; observed several large flies in the kitchen; cardboard is being reused throughout the kitchen (lining shelves and on side table next to deep fryers); cutting boards throughout kitchen are scratched and stained; fan guards in walk-in cooler are dirty and dusty; sides of cooking equipment have grease buildup; lowboy cooler gaskets, dry storage racks, interior of drink cooler and interior of reach-in freezer are dirty; microwave exterior covered in dried food debris; bulk storage containers covered in flour and dried food debris; observed heavy grease buildup and dried food stains on floors and walls behind hot line; observed dried food stains on walls throughout kitchen; ventilation hoods are greasy.

Scott’s Shawarma, 5401 Glenside Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperatures of steak and chicken on vertical broiler are too low (employee had cut broiler off); chlorine sanitizer concentration in bucket is too high; prep cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained; cement floor in walk-in coolers are not sealed (paint is chipping).

Zorba’s Greek-Italian Cuisine, 9068 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed clams in freezer without shell stock tags attached; temperature of rice in make table is too low; temperatures of various foods in walk-in are elevated; temperatures of cheese, lettuce and tomato at make table are elevated; temperature of cooked pasta is elevated (was cooling in a deep and covered container); tuna found in reduced oxygen packaging; several food bottles above make table are unlabeled; racks in walk-in cooler and freezer are rusty; observed low grout and cracked floor tiles throughout kitchen, especially in dish area; wall under three-compartment sink is not smooth and easily cleanable; hood vents are rusty and in need of cleaning.

Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, 11829 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: dicer and scoops on wall are soiled with food; stickers and old sticker residue found on clean containers; temperature of spinach and cream sauce is elevated; the records for Feb. 7 are incomplete; temperature of tomatoes prepped 2-3 hours ago are elevated because they are tightly wrapped and stacked in the walk-in cooler; a cook on the cook line is wearing bracelets; there is 0 ppm sanitizer in sanibucket; facility doesn’t have a testing device for the high temp dish machine; didn’t observe a pipe under rinse sink at dish machine (person in charge states it was removed due to a leak and another is being installed); observed low grouting by salad station and mop area; drain covers are rusty.

Dunkin Donuts, 10260 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: front hand sink doesn’t have hand soap; front hand sink is being used as a dump/rinse sink for the blender; back hand sink is being used as a dump sink; stir spoons are stored in ambient temperature standing water.

Peter Chang, 11408 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: back hand sink is blocked; pork wontons on counter are not at the proper temperature; cabbage found at room temperature; no date marks found on cooked noodles or breaded chicken/shrimp; wood shelves in baking area and back storage area are bare/unsealed; gasket torn on unit; unable to figure how the thermometer will hold dish temperature; unused equipment on the premises needs to be removed.

Touché Pies and Fries, 1221 North Laburnum Avenue – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

Subway, 9127 Staples Mill Road – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: employee with a long beard isn’t wearing a hair net.

Tarrants West, 11129 Three Chopt Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: dried lettuce found inside salad spinner; observed red mold inside ice machine; soda machine dispensers are sticky and dusty; observed mold on two soda gun dispensers at bar; dried food debris found inside microwaves throughout kitchen; tub of marinara in walk-in cooler is past its expiration date; knives are stored in gap between salad area lowboy cooler and prep table; cutting boards throughout kitchen are stained and scratched; wire racks in both walk-in coolers and in dry storage area are rusty; door handle to dessert cooler at pizza station is in disrepair; observed dark spots on gaskets on cook line lowboy units; there is buildup/debris/grease under fryers, on light bulb covers and in between equipment on cook line; observed buildup on shelves behind cook line and on racks throughout kitchen; observed dust buildup on top of, behind and inside ventilation system of pizza oven; outdoor dumpster sliding doors were left open; there is dust buildup on ceiling tiles, especially near ventilation; observed grease buildup on floor under deep fryers.

Café at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, 1602 Skipwith Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: unable to verify that workers have been trained on employee health; open drink found; hand sink doesn’t have hand soap; ice cooler isn’t self-draining; there are no heat tapes or max-registering thermometer to monitor unit; no data plate found on new high temp dish machine.
