Capital Ale House, 4024-A Cox Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: shellstock tag doesn’t have the date that the last mussel was served; temperature of German goulash made the day prior is elevated because of improper cooling methods; temperatures of burger, steak and chicken in drawers under grill are elevated; sausage, rice, pulled chicken and beef for French dip are past their expiration dates; facility is laying down Borax tracking powder under sinks (use a non-toxic tracking powder like talcum); an employee is prepping food while wearing dangling bracelets; to-go containers are not covered or inverted to prevent contamination; fans are dusty; observed buildup on racks in units and in ice wells used for sauces; observed grease buildup behind cook line and staining of tile and ceiling tiles around hood; there is debris buildup under dish machine and in drains throughout kitchen.

Jamaica Jerk Pit, 2743 Hungary Spring Road – The following violation was reported during a follow-up inspection: temperatures of chicken, ox tails, goat and cabbage are elevated.

Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar, 7801 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: chemical spray bottles are unlabeled; washed and cut tomatoes were put back in the dirty cardboard box they were delivered in; cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained; observed buildup in bottom of units and on racks in units, including the walk-in; dried sauce found on outside of sauce pumps; observed debris under equipment and in mop sinks; there is food splatter on walls; drains throughout are dirty.

Tay-Ho Restaurant, 7927 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: an employee is making spring rolls with bare hands; no employee handwash signage is posted at the bar hand sink; raw beef incorrectly stored over ready-to-eat foods in lowboy unit; observed mold inside both soda guns at bar area and in one at the front of house beverage station; bowl of frozen shrimp improperly thawing in water; multiple foods incorrectly stored directly on the floor in dry storage, walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer; multiple cutting boards throughout the kitchen are heavily scratched; observed debris/buildup/grease under stove, in between equipment and under fryers on the cook line; racks and shelves throughout the facility have debris and dust; rubber door gaskets on all lowboy units have food debris; wire racks in walk-in cooler are moldy; fan guards in walk-in cooler are dusty; ceiling tiles and ventilation tiles are dusty; mold found on wall behind three-compartment sink; observed grease buildup on floors under equipment and behind hot line.

Sushi King & Grill, 9125-L West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: there wasn’t a person in charge when the inspector first arrived; observed an open can on prep surface where food is plated and on prep unit at sushi station (drinks need to be in a cup with straw and lid); hand sink in serving station doesn’t have paper towels; there is 0 ppm sanitizer in dish machine; temperature of fried rice in hot holding unit is too low; live roaches found on dish machine; roaches found in glue traps; observed employee drinks in the ice bin used for customer’s ice; knives incorrectly stored between prep surface; rice scoops incorrectly stored in water; gaskets on lowboy units in sushi station are torn; walk-in racks are rusted; prep tables are rusted with holes and are being held up by bricks; a light is out under the hood; observed grease/debris buildup between equipment on cook line, on pipes behind cook line, coming down from the hood and on racks in walk-in.

Breaker’s Sports Grille, 9127-V West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility couldn’t provide a certified food protection manager certificate; employees are not aware of their illness reporting responsibilities; an uncovered employee drink found on shelf next to spices; an employee plated a hamburger with bare hands; observed debris buildup on can opener blade; there is buildup inside soda gun nozzle at bar on non-smoking side; temperature of sliced cheese in make table is elevated; glass cleaner incorrectly stored next to wine in dry storage; lye drain cleaner incorrectly stored above food items in dry storage; two chemical spray bottles at the bar are unlabeled; observed small flies at the bar; two ice scoop handles are in contact with ice at the non-smoking bar; aluminum foil should not line shelves at grill and cook line prep; gasket on chest freezer is in poor repair; beer cooler at bar in poor repair (bottom panel of unit is coming up, making it hard to clean); drain line for soda gun cannot go through the ice bin at the bar (ice is a food and must be protected from contamination); observed grime inside dish machine (sprayers and interior surfaces are soiled); nonfood contact surfaces need to be cleaned, as well as the flour bin, shelving at cook line and cook line equipment; sprayer hose next to dish machine hangs too low; observed grease and food debris on physical facilities throughout the kitchen including cook line floor and wall and wall behind dish machine; several lights are out in the kitchen above the dish area.

Tres Marias, 9503-B West Broad Street – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: raw eggs incorrectly stored over sauce bottles.

Burgerworks, 10321 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: front area hand sink is blocked for use by shake cups; blanched fries and fried onions are at room temperature; temperature of blanched fries piled on a sheet pan in walk-in are elevated; bulk food bins are unlabeled; cut raw fries are soaking in gray garbage bins (use food grade plastic containers); walk-in cooler racks need cleaning.

Tropical Smoothie Café, 1513 North Parham Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have written procedures for cleaning up vomit/diarrhea; kale salads, cooked sweet potatoes and corn do not have date marks; hummus is past its expiration date; the ice receptacle is unprotected; there is ice on the walk-in freezer floor.

Besos Mexican Kitchen & Cantina, 4821 Old Main Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility couldn’t provide food protection manager certification; kitchen hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; the hot water at hand sinks doesn’t reach the required temperature; bottle of bleach incorrectly stored next to tubs of tortilla chips; wire racks in walk-in cooler are rusty; rubber gaskets on freezer under flat top grill are dirty; observed grease buildup on sides of equipment on hot line and walls and floors behind hot line.

El Torito Mexican Restaurant and Grill, 5600 Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed dirty dishes and raw chicken stored in hand sinks (hand sinks are for handwashing only); raw shell eggs incorrectly stored above produce, raw hamburgers incorrectly stored over French fries, and raw meat incorrectly stored over cooked meat in reach-in cooler; observed grease buildup on sides of cooking equipment on hot line; rubber door gaskets on lowboy cooler are dirty; wire racks in walk-in cooler are greasy and moldy.
