Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken, 1501 North Parham Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: hand sink is blocked by a tray; temperatures of nuggets, tenders, cheese and coleslaw are elevated; used breading is on a time control policy but time is not being tracked; can of Raid found (cannot be used in the establishment); food supplies incorrectly stored beside cleaners; fly strip is hanging over make table (cannot be located near food); ice cream scoops found in standing water; soy garlic sauce has a cup inside with the handle buried; a bucket that was once ice cream is being reused for boba; fryer vents and make table interior are dirty; hand sink has a leak.

KickBack Jacks, 9318 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: observed pink slime inside machine; main bar and outside bar floors still have debris and buildup; some areas have low grout.

RVA Pizza, 9742 Gayton Road – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: one fan grill is dusty; make table has a torn gasket; bare wood is unsealed; more light is needed above the three-compartment sink; unneeded equipment still needs to be removed from the facility; facility needs a certified food protection manager.

La Barrita, 8711 Shrader Road – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: no supervisors or managers are certified food protection managers.

Lakeside Barbeque LLC, 6920-E Lakeside Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed an employee eating over prep table in kitchen; walls throughout kitchen have chipping paint.

Texas de Brazil Churrascaria, 11800 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed an employee eating with gloved hands in the kitchen and then proceeded to prepare food without changing gloves and washing hands; soiled knife found in hand sink at meat grill station (hand sinks are for handwashing only); quat sanitizer level at three-compartment sink in kitchen is too low; no sanitizer detected at bar dish machine; temperature of lobster bisque prepared yesterday is elevated because it was not cooled properly (stored in two large, deep containers in walk-in); temperature of rice in deep plastic container in steam well is too low; temperatures of tomatoes, potato salad, goat cheese, mozzarella, roasted garlic in oil, green beans and half-and-half are elevated; person in charge unable to locate test strips for chlorine sanitizer; racks in walk-ins are soiled.

China Taste, 2623 New Market Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed staff wash hands with cold water and no soap; to-go boxes are not stored inverted to prevent contamination; cardboard boxes cannot be reused as shelf liners; observed grease buildup and/or food debris on sides of deep fryers and on wire racks in walk-in cooler; door gaskets in walk-in cooler, freezer and reach-in coolers are dirty and stained; outsides and lids of bulk food containers are dirty; observed grease buildup and food residue on walls behind and floor under cook line.

Leonardo’s Pizza & Pasta, 10883 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: raw shell eggs shouldn’t be stored over soup in walk-in cooler; observed mold inside ice machine and on soda gun at bar area; ice well at front counter service area is dirty inside; temperatures of sliced tomatoes, spaghetti, lasagna and cut lettuce in salad lowboy are elevated; several bulk containers of white powder substances are unlabeled; boxes and buckets of food shouldn’t be stored directly on the walk-in floor; wire racks throughout kitchen, especially in walk-in coolers, are rusty; observed dirty cooler gaskets throughout kitchen (lowboy freezer, lowboy dough unit, pizza unit, reach-in coolers and freezers); left fan guard in walk-in cooler is very dusty; floor and walls in dish area are heavily soiled; floor and walls under prep sink are dirty; walk-in cooler floors are dirty; ceiling vents are very dusty; ceiling tiles throughout kitchen are discolored; hood filters are greasy.

& Pizza, 1601 Willow Lawn Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: can opener is soiled; flat pans are dirty; meatballs found at improper temperature; back oven and crumb trays to both ovens are soiled.

Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, 9601 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: employee touched raw shrimp with gloved hand when placing it on the grill and failed to remove gloves and wash hands before checking temperature of cooked chicken; fly tape shouldn’t be located above the prep table; storage racks in walk-in are rusty; observed food debris on shelving and inside refrigerator units; observed mold/food debris on racks in walk-ins; some equipment at cook line is greasy; pipe under hand sink is leaking water onto the floor; there is dust buildup on ceiling near vent; observed grease on floor, wall and pipes at cook line; floor is in very poor shape; grout is low and food and water are pooling in between tiles; tiles are cracked or missing throughout kitchen and walk-in; hood filters have grease buildup; grease is dripping at back of hood system on bottom.
