SEPT. 21

Adams Elementary School, 600 South Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed food debris on can opener blade; black stains found on reach-in cooler door gaskets; mold and black stains found on walk-in freezer door gaskets; wall tiles near milk cooler and in dish room are damaged.

Verena at the Glen, 10286 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed food and other debris in hand sinks (hand sinks are for handwashing only); hand sinks by entrance to kitchen and in dish area do not have paper towels; hand sink on the line doesn’t have hand soap; observed buildup on shield of ice machine and on can opener; there is 0 ppm of sanitizer in dish machine; dishes are being stacked while still wet; observed buildup of dirt and food debris under equipment; observed food splatter on walls and mold-like buildup under dish machine; floor drains need cleaning; there is low grouting throughout the kitchen; floor tiles in storage room are cracked; there is chipping paint in storage room.

Harvie Elementary School, 3401 Harvie Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed dried food debris on can opener blade and inside microwave; gaskets in reach-in cooler are dirty; fan guards in walk-in cooler are dirty; wire racks in walk-in cooler are moldy; ceiling tiles near ceiling vents are dusty.

SEPT. 22

Taco Bell, 4388 South Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: mold found on ice dispenser of self-service soda machine; gaskets on both taco shell warming units are torn; walk-in cooler door gaskets are dirty; walk-in cooler fan guards are dusty; observed dust and food debris on wire racks in walk-in cooler; mop sink doesn’t have a dual check valve installed.

Taco Bell, 1330 North Laburnum Avenue – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

SEPT. 25

World of Beer, 11600 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed employees working in the food service area without proper hair/facial hair restraints; fryer baskets are in disrepair (metal is bent and breaking); there are cracked containers and lids on shelves; prep cutting board is stained and scratched; flatbread serving boards are heavily scratched; observed food debris on floors, behind fryers, in beer cooler and under prep units.

Sumo Sushi Express, 1090 Virginia Center Parkway – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: time is not being tracked for rice on counter.

SEPT. 29

Starbucks Coffee Company, 8137 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: back hand sink doesn’t have hand soap; observed buildup in drains, on piping and on floors under equipment.

Wendy’s, 11274 Patterson Avenue – The following violation was reported during a follow-up inspection: observed grease on floor behind refrigerator and safe at the drive-thru.

Bambu Drinks & Desserts, 4040-F Cox Road – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: utensils incorrectly stored in ambient temperature standing water.
