Panera Bread, 9960 Brook Road – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

Highland Springs High School, 15 South Oak Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: food debris found in both microwaves and on can opener blade; temperatures of multiple food items are elevated in the walk-in cooler; walk-in cooler fan guards are rusty; reach-in freezer gaskets are moldy; shelves on serving line have food debris on them; observed stains and food debris buildup on floors and walls near dish machine; ceiling tile near vents is dusty; floor in deep fryer area is greasy.

Lakeside Fraternal Order of Eagles, 3008 Lincoln Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; raw eggs incorrectly stored over tomatoes; observed dust buildup on hood filters.

The Mantu Market, 7510 West Broad Street – No additional violations reported during a follow-up inspection.

Live Crawfish & Seafood, 9020 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: certified food protection manager certificate of person in charge is expired; hand sink near three-compartment sink doesn’t have paper towels; improper method used to thaw shrimp in three-compartment sink; single and prep cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained; fryer baskets are in disrepair; observed food debris and grease buildup on lower shelves of prep table, inside reach-in freezer, on counters and portable fans, and inside front hand sink; several light bulbs are out in ceiling fixtures.

Jamaica Jerk Pit, 2743 Hungary Spring Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: open can drink incorrectly stored with sauces in prep top; temperatures of watermelon, chicken stock and carrots/cabbage are elevated; utensils improperly stored in ambient temperature water.

Hot Pot 757, 7502 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: fly sticky strips incorrectly placed above areas where food and clean equipment are stored; rice scoops improperly stored in standing water.

Kung Fu Tea, 10827 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperatures of milk and heavy cream in lowboy unit are elevated; sanitizer solution in sanibucket needs to be diluted; facility couldn’t provide test strips for sanitizer.

Tortilleria Mixteca, 5172 Nine Mile Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: raw meats incorrectly stored over ready-to-eat foods in reach-in cooler; observed staff work with food, touch dirty dishes at sink and then continue working with the same food item without changing gloves; bulk container of salt is unlabeled; whole birds and several boxes of food incorrectly stored directly on the floor of walk-in cooler and freezer; observed dried animal blood in bottom interior of reach-in freezer; walk-in cooler and freezer door gaskets are dirty; there is no lighting inside walk-in cooler.

Shelly’s Food Restaurant LLC, 7304 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: hand sink in back kitchen doesn’t have hand soap; observed several pans of unwrapped or uncovered food in the walk-in cooler; two cell phones incorrectly stored on prep table that employees were prepping foods on; observed single-use gloves being washed and reused after an employee handled raw meat; gasket on walk-in cooler door is torn; single cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained; observed food debris buildup on wire racks in walk-in cooler and inside reach-in cooler; ceiling panels in kitchen and over front cook line/prep area are not smooth and easily cleanable.

SEPT. 19

Chadar Thai LLC, 8030-A West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: dish machine is not dispensing sanitizer (test strip read 0 ppm sanitizer); rice scoops incorrectly stored in ambient temperature water; fryer baskets are in disrepair (metal is bent); prep unit cutting board is heavily scratched and stained; observed buildup of food debris and mildew on wire racks and fan system in walk-in cooler.

Taco Bell, 7210 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: employee with long facial hair isn’t wearing a beard guard; observed food debris and grease on surfaces of wire storage racks above three-compartment sink, shelves storing wrappers and boxes and in tortilla chip bins; some floor tiles are missing; there is low grout under fryers.

SEPT. 20

Carver Elementary School, 1801 Lauderdale Drive – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

Komma Tea, 11800 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: back hand sink doesn’t have hand soap; front hand sink doesn’t have hot water; spoons incorrectly stored in water; ice scoop handle and handles for mix-in powders are touching products.

Mezeh Mediterranean Grill, 11710 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: dish machine only has 10 ppm of chlorine sanitizer; temperature of Turkish salad prepared over four hours ago is elevated; temperature of kefta on the hot line is too low; temperatures of spinach, hummus, tomatoes, tabbouleh and couscous on the line are elevated; observed low grouting throughout back kitchen.
