Oley’s Café, 4435 Waterfront Drive – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

More Than Sushi, 9199 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed an employee fail to wash hands after washing equipment and re-entering the kitchen from outside; observed heavy buildup of food, grease and bowls in both hand sinks (hand sinks are for handwashing only); paper towel dispenser at front hand sink isn’t working; an employee failed to sanitize a bin that contained cooked rice after cleaning it; greasy containers and utensils stored clean on dry racks; temperature of rice in rice warmer is too low; temperatures of noodles and chicken are elevated because they were left out on the counter; noodles improperly thawing on the counter; dead roaches found on floor near water heater and mop sink; heavily soiled wiping cloths are in use; observed mold and grime buildup inside three-compartment sink basins; observed heavy buildup of grease and food on surfaces of grill, fryers, blenders, tea containers, prep unit/table shelves, wire storage racks, portable fans and inside prep units and freezer; observed buildup of grease, food and grime on floors and walls in the kitchen, on hood filters and on suppression nozzles.

Arby’s, 5220 Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperature of chicken nugget in hot holding tray is too low; temperatures of prepared broccoli (portioned cups have lids on) and tomatoes (plastic wrap is covering containers) are elevated because of improper cooling methods; observed large and small flies in the kitchen; cutting boards at the make table are scratched and discolored; mop sink faucet doesn’t have a dual check valve installed; prep sink where food is thawed and washed is directly plumbed (indirect connect is needed at sinks used for food prep).

SEPT. 5

Subway, 9105 Quioccasin Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: person in charge cannot verify that workers have been instructed on employee health; single-service items incorrectly stored under sewer pipe.

Virginia Barbeque Company, 6920-E Lakeside Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed an employee eating over prep table in kitchen; containers on clean dish rack are stained, cracked and pitted; there is chipping paint on walls throughout the kitchen.

Takara Ramen, 9468 West Broad Street – The following violation was reported during a follow-up inspection: single and prep unit cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained.

MOD Pizza, 8671 Quioccasin Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: person in charge cannot verify that workers have been trained on employee health; temperatures of salami and blue cheese on the line are elevated; opened bag of sausage in walk-in cooler is not date marked; sugar container is unlabeled; there is standing water inside back make table; facility doesn’t have heat tapes or holding thermometer to monitor the dish machine; observed buildup on floor edges by dough machine and make tables; floor drains are dirty.

Buttermilk and Honey, 12246 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: no hand wash signs are posted at hand sinks; food dicer has dried food debris; pickled onions and pimento cheese are not date marked; knives incorrectly stored between prep table and counter; to-go containers are not covered to prevent contamination; didn’t observe sanitizer.

NuNu’s Café, 6800 Paragon Place – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: no supervisors or managers are certified food protection managers.

Noodles & Company, 4101 Dominion Boulevard – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: single cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained; observed dust and grease residue on surfaces of monitors, touchpads, grill, counters, under and on top of oven, and on carts and some wire racks; observed debris and grime on floor and under/behind equipment; the cement floor in the kitchen is no longer smooth and easily cleanable.

Subway, 3606 Nine Mile Road – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: mold found inside ice machine; there are multiple leaks at three-compartment sink faucet; dumpster doors and lid were left open.
