Anant Cuisine of India, 4348 Pouncey Tract Road – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: tortilla press stored on clean dish rack has sauce residue on it; can of Raid found at the bar (cannot use this in a food establishment); walk-in racks are dirty; gasket in large make table has food debris; walls still need cleaning; floor corners throughout kitchen still have dark buildup.

Hadad’s Lake, 1140 Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: no certified food protection manager is on site; facility doesn’t have written procedures for cleaning up vomit/diarrhea; hand sink in employee restroom doesn’t have paper towels; single-service items are not stored inverted to prevent contamination; floor tiles in back of kitchen are chipped.

Ho Ho Chinese Restaurant, 10 East Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: both hand sinks in kitchen are obstructed by boxes, equipment and fan; raw beef incorrectly stored over cabbage and bowl of raw chicken incorrectly stored above and next to ready-to-eat foods in walk-in cooler; observed dried food debris inside microwave and on lids and exteriors of bulk containers for flour, sugar, starch and rice; fried chicken wings on counter, egg rolls and sweet and sour chicken are at improper temperatures; fried rice is in a rice cooker that is unplugged; temperatures of noodles and cooked shrimp are elevated because they were left out on the prep sink; bottle of degreaser incorrectly stored next to food in the kitchen; bulk container of potato starch is unlabeled; observed flies throughout the kitchen; food incorrectly stored directly on the floor of the walk-in; wire racks in walk-in cooler and exteriors of multiple deep freezers in kitchen are rusty; standing freezer door handle is broken; multiple cutting boards in kitchen are heavily stained and scratched; observed food debris on bottom shelf of standing freezer and lowboy unit; there is a buildup of grease on sides of hot line; observed dried food debris and grease buildup on walls throughout kitchen, floors under hot line and inside/outside of hood system.

Pho 1 Grill, 201 Towne Center West Boulevard – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: person in charge was unaware of the “big six” reportable foodborne illnesses and the associated symptoms; facility doesn’t have written procedures for cleaning up vomit; open cup of water found on expo; cook line hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; small black deposits found on interior plate of ice machine; bean sprouts, cabbage, pickled veggies and garlic oil are all left out at room temperature; fried chicken pieces held for more than one day are not date marked; spray bottle of cleaner at bar is unlabeled; many food buckets incorrectly stored directly on freezer floor; rice scoop incorrectly stored in standing water; ice scoops at the bar are stored with handles touching ice; walk-in racks are rusty; one light is out under the hood; gasket in reach-in freezer is torn; small cutting boards are heavily scratched; walls throughout kitchen have some stain patches.

Panera Bread, 9080 Staples Mill Road – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

Taco Bell, 8991 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed an employee clean cutting board with a sanitized cloth and then handle ready-to-eat food without changing gloves; prep unit cutting boards are scratched and stained; observed grease buildup on wheels of fryers; observed dust and food debris on surfaces of wire storage racks, wrapper holders and inside warmers.

Peking Restaurant, 8904-F West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have written procedures for cleaning up vomit/diarrhea; temperature of General Tso’s chicken in cook line lowboy is elevated; rice for fried rice, one pan of General Tso’s chicken and small dish of chopped up pork near the soups are all discarded at the end of lunch time (have a written policy that states which products get discarded after lunch); white powders on the cook line are unlabeled; bucket of chicken incorrectly stored directly on floor near prep sink; chicken broth buckets incorrectly sitting on the floor to cool.

Qdoba—Short Pump, 11282 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed pink film on back of ice chute on Freestyle Coke machine; pink tubs on drying rack have food particles on them; red rice on steam table is at an incorrect temperature because it is overfilled; sanibuckets on the line have less than 150 ppm of quat sanitizer; wire racks throughout the kitchen are rusty; observed debris buildup on walk-in racks; walk-in fan guards are dusty.

The Cocky Rooster, 12171-D West Broad Street – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

McDonald’s, 607 East Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: both women’s and men’s restrooms are missing handwash signage; observed mold inside the ice machine; spoons at drive-thru beverage station incorrectly stored in a cup of water; walk-in cooler fan guards are dusty/moldy; hood filters above burger station are greasy and need cleaning.

JUNE 30

Napoli Pizza, 3324 Pump Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: open package of raw bacon incorrectly stored over an open container of lettuce; temperature of garlic in oil left out at the pizza station is elevated; ham and cooked ground beef at pizza station are not date marked; time is not being tracked for pizza slices on time control; temperatures of individually wrapped portions of spaghetti noodles (stacked in a pan) and cooked chicken (covered in plastic wrap) are elevated because of improper cooling methods; observed buildup of grease on kitchen shelving; mops are not being hung to air dry.

JULY 3

Cheesecake Factory, 11800 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed bartenders adding drink garnishes (fruits, mint) with their bare hands; prep area hand sink is missing paper towels; hand sink on line is blocked by a trash can; raw turkey burgers incorrectly stored over beef burgers and raw chicken incorrectly stored over containers of cooked pasta in walk-in; observed debris on food contact surface of slicer in prep area and brown buildup along handle crevices; interior of bulk ice machine is moldy; observed heavy black slime buildup on bar soda gun nozzles; temperature of queso in steam table is too low; temperatures of all foods in grill/fry station make table are elevated (spinach, caramelized onions, herb butter, etc.); temperatures of foods in sautee station are elevated (chicken jus, salmon, sauces); temperatures of tomato sauce at pizza station and potstickers in production reach-in cooler are elevated; many foods are being placed directly into make tables and drawers immediately after prep, including hot foods that are just starting the cooling process; observed small flies at the bar; many cutting boards are heavily scratched; drain rack on soda dispenser at service station near the bar is rusty; gaskets in the pasta station drawers have tears and/or are not sealing drawers tightly; fan guards in all walk-ins are dusty; beer cooler has mold growth along the back foam-coated pipe; racks in the liquor room have buildup; black drying mats along expo/server stations and grates on the back of the cake display are dusty; plate shelf at cake station feels gritty; walls in the dish area are dirty; ceiling tiles over the dishwasher are moldy; caulk along the cook line is brittle and falling apart, leaving gaps at seals of equipment; ceiling and upper wall corner in the liquor room are damaged from what appears to be a water leak.

JULY 5

Burger King, 1013 Parham Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: interior of ice machine has black residue; time control is not being followed according to store policy; observed many live flies (employee said door has been opened more than usual due to a maintenance worker); observed buildup inside oven; mop sink doesn’t have a dual check valve installed; floor in far back needs attention; floor drain by hot water heater is dirty; pipes in back have torn/frayed insulation.

Bojangles, 8823 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: items found in hand sink near dish wash area (hand sinks are for handwashing only); this hand sink is blocked by equipment; observed black residue buildup inside door of ice machine and chute; temperatures of cheese and tomatoes in prep unit are elevated; time is not being tracked for blanched fries near the fryers; observed several small flies near the tanks in the back prep area and storage area; employee with beard is not wearing a guard; single-service and single-use items are not stored inverted to prevent contamination; small prep unit is not holding foods at the proper temperature; prep unit cutting board is heavily scratched and stained; observed buildup of flour, grease and food debris on all wire racks, shelves, hot water dispensers, fryers, bulk bins, crates and bins in walk-in cooler, cables, monitors, portable fan, all equipment in biscuit making area, fan systems in walk-in cooler, and inside reach-in freezer, mop sink and warmer units; observed buildup of food debris and grime on floors and walls and inside floor drains; ceiling panels and vents are dusty.

Little Caesars, 1547 North Parham Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: soda crates cannot be used as shelves inside the walk-in; several items are soiled and need to be cleaned (exterior of dough rounder, exterior of oil dispenser, oven crumb trays and mop sink); grout inside walk-in and floor drain under three-compartment sink are dirty.
