Original Gino’s Pizza, 10444 Ridgefield Parkway – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperature of pizza sauce is elevated; pizza slices are left out at room temperature (written time control policy is unavailable and time is not being tracked).

Tropical Smoothie Café, 9972 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: mold-like buildup found in lids of blenders; metal ice bin is rusting causing a slight leak; several areas need cleaning (inside of units, blender holders, can opener holder and in metal cabints under blender station).

Li’s Garden Inc., 1237 North Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: in the walk-in cooler, raw shell eggs incorrectly stored over cooked chicken wings, raw pork incorrectly stored over vegetables and raw shrimp incorrectly stored next to cooked chicken; observed food debris inside and outside meat grinder and on knives stored clean; temperature of several tubs of fried chicken wings in walk-in cooler are elevated; temperature of fried chicken stored on shelf is elevated; several foods are not at the proper temperature (lo mein, pork, cooked broccoli, raw eggs, raw shrimp, napa cabbage, bean sprouts, egg rolls, pork ribs and beef); elevated temperatures and improper cooling methods observed for sweet and sour shrimp, deep containers of fried rice and a deep container of General Tso’s chicken; menu states scallops are being served but imitation scallops are being used; egg cartons are being reused throughout the kitchen; observed food debris on lower shelving; mold found on reach-in cooler gaskets; observed grease and buildup on floor under hot line.

Atlas 42, 4032-A Cox Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: can opener and its holster are dirty; marinara doesn’t have a date label; veggie stock is past its expiration date; wire strainer has broken/poking wires; gasket on upright freezer is torn; observed greasy residue and/or food debris on top and bottom expo shelves; both walk-in coolers have dusty fan guards and white debris on racks; top groove of exterior ice machine door has pink buildup; floors and walls near dish table are soiled; large ceiling tile patch is missing over storage rack next to walk-ins; hood filters are greasy.

Wendy’s, 9116 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: didn’t observe a certified food protection manager certificate; temperature of chili in warmer unit is too low; temperatures of eggs and fried chicken patty in hot holding Henny Penny are too low; temperature of nacho cheese on corner of hot holding line is too low; temperatures of sour cream and cheeses on front service line are elevated; temperature of raw shell eggs in cold holding meat station are elevated; the air temperature of multiple refrigeration units is elevated; improper cooling methods observed for lettuce and sliced tomatoes (cooling in deep containers with saran wrap on top); lowboy unit has a torn door handle; hot holding units above front line near drive-thru are not in working condition; observed debris/grease/buildup in between equipment, on pipes, light bulb covers, hood filters, under fryers, on whells under fryers on cook line, on shelves and racks throughout, in bottoms of all lowboy units and reach-in freezer unit, and on floors and walls throughout back kitchen, especially on cook line in front of house; there is heavy ice accumulation on floor (left side) of walk-in freezer; multiple ceiling lights out in kitchen; there is low grouting on floors throughout kitchen.

JUNE 5

Hibachi Grill Buffet, 4338 South Laburnum Avenue – The following violation was reported during a follow-up inspection: establishment doesn’t have the oyster tags from the past 90 days (only one tag remained).

Hawk’s Fish & BBQ, 3050 Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: temperatures of green beans and mac n cheese made yesterday are still elevated because they weren’t cooled properly; temperatures of potato salad and coleslaw in prep unit are elevated; this prep unit needs repairing or replacement; no prepared items are marked with the date made; observed many flies flying in the facility and one live adult German cockroach crawling on the outside of the reach-in cooler (there are no updated pest control invoices); torn gasket in the service area; racks are rusty in reach-in cooler; rolling rack shelf on the cook line is covered in grease and food debris; the non-working prep unit and glass door unit in side room should be removed from the facility.

Subway Sandwiches & Salads, 1216 North Concord Avenue – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: temperatures of deli meat and cheese in lowboy unit across from make line are elevated.

America’s Best Wings, 4730 Finlay Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have written procedures for cleaning up vomit/diarrhea; an employee’s open cup of tea is on the food prep surface; hand sink is blocked by a large bowl and rolling cart; temperatures of two bins of chicken wings cooked two hours prior are elevated; temperature of nacho cheese is too low; pasta and sliced turkey in prep units and pasta in the walk-in are not date marked; sliced tomatoes are labeled with an incorrect date; milk and batter for breading was left out at room temperature with no written time control policy; bulk bins of sugar and MSG are unlabeled; there is cardboard soaked in grease on the prep table and on the floor under the fryers.

JUNE 6

KFC/Taco Bell, 8340 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed food debris on multiple containers stored clean; clean containers are stacked while still wet; observed heavy black grease buildup on baking sheets; several surfaces are dirty/greasy (hot holding units on service line, lowboy units on line, racks, piping and sides of cook line equipment); drink machine has a leak and the drain isn’t draining which is causing an overflow; observed dirt and food buildup under equipment; fans, hood filters and ceiling tiles are dusty; there is heavy grease buildup under fryers; there is low grouting throughout; floor tiles are cracked throughout; covers for drains are rusting.

JUNE 7

Regal Cinemas—Short Pump, 11650 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have a certified food protection manager; facility doesn’t have written procedures for cleaning up vomit; ice machine chutes have pink film in the grooves; gasket on lowboy freezer is torn.

JUNE 8

Regal Cinemas—Virginia Center, 10091 Jeb Stuart Parkway – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: hand sink in back kitchen has a leak.

Firehouse Subs, 1070 Virginia Center Parkway – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: pink mildew found on shield of ice machine; observed food and dirt debris inside units holding deli meat; dust and grime buildup found on racks throughout; observed debris buildup under equipment on front line, on floor under dish machine and in walk-in.

Starbucks inside Kroger, 11895 West Broad Street – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

JUNE 9

Red Lobster, 8009 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperatures of spring mix and pasta are elevated because of improper cooling methods; temperatures of coleslaw, lettuce and sour cream are elevated; cambros are stacked while still wet; cutting boards are heavily scratched; door is not closing properly on Beverage Air unit; lowboy freezer unit has a torn gasket; two light bulbs out on cook line hood and one light bulb out at prep area hood system; bar three-compartment sink has a leaky faucet; there is low grouting on floors in back kitchen; observed buildup on floors, under counters at wait station, in chemical storage room and at bar area; ceiling vents in prep area are dusty.
