APRIL 25

Jadean’s Smokin Six O, 1126 Westbriar Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have written procedures for cleaning up vomit/diarrhea; sauce labels are missing name, place of business and net quantity; ice wand is stored unprotected in the freezer; cutting boards are heavily scratched and discolored; pipe under three-compartment sink is leaking; there is a direct connection at three-compartment sink; mop is not hung to air dry.

Panda Express, 9100 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: wire storage racks in walk-in cooler are rusty; observed food debris and grease on surfaces of fryers, wok faucets, bins storing utensils, and wire racks in walk-in cooler.

Zaxby’s, 9110 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed a food prep employee chewing gum; observed a food prep employee with long beard not wearing a beard guard; fryer basket is in disrepair; observed grease and food debris on surfaces of fryers, panini press, under grill, wire racks in dishwash area, monitors, cables and warmer cabinets; observed buildup of food and grime on floors throughout kitchen and in dish wash areas.

Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits, 2318 East Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed buildup of grease on wheels and sides of fryers; observed buildup in units and brown liquid dripping in small front one-door reach-in.

European Taste, 10604 Patterson Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed some pink slime inside the ice machine; cream is uncovered in reach-in refrigerator and cake is uncovered in reach-in freezer; observed crumbs in refrigerators and on shelving in back of kitchen.

APRIL 26

Westbury Deli, 8903 Three Chopt Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed employees fail to change gloves and wash hands between tasks or after touching soiled surfaces; temperatures of food (raw bacon, cabbage, greens) in the front sliding glass cooler are elevated; no sanitizer detected in wiping cloth bucket; refrigerator fan guard and some racks have dust accumulation.

Ci Ci’s Pizza, 7516 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have a certified food protection manager; several containers and lids are heavily scratched and stained; observed grease and grime buildup on dough press and dough rack surfaces; walk-in cooler door and around frame are rusty.

Bellacino’s Pizza and Grinders, 8026-D West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: single-service containers are stored on dirty surfaces of prep counters; prep unit cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained; lids are broken and cracked; pizza sheet pans are badly pitted; observed dust and food debris on wire storage racks, prep counters and inside reach-in coolers and freezer; floor tiles near dish machine and in walk-in cooler are broken/missing.

A Taste of Nostalgia Cereal Bar, 1420 North Parham Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have a certified food protection manager; facility doesn’t have written procedures for cleaning up vomit/diarrhea; chlorine level in wiping cloth bucket is too high.

Baker’s Crust Artisan Kitchen, 11800 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: line and bar hand sinks are missing hand soap; bar hand sink is missing paper towels; temperatures of cooked mushrooms, mozzarella, roasted peaches, roasted onions, salmon and fried onions are elevated; mac and cheese sauce and chicken in the walk-in cooler are stored in deep containers; bulk containers of flour and sugar in the back are unlabeled; observed employees wearing watches and bracelets while preparing food; wooden crepe spatula is splintering; there is soiled standing water under kegs in bar cooler; there are areas of low grout; some floor tiles are damaged.

9 Mile Grill, 309 West Nine Mile Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: single-service and/or single-use articles are stored on dirty counter surfaces; observed grease and food debris buildup on grill, fryers, prep counters, wire storage shelves, toasters, microwave, carts and containers in prep unit; concrete floors are no longer sealed and easily cleanable; observed food debris and grime on floors and walls, under and behind equipment.

Balkan Restaurant, 8905 Patterson Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: didn’t observe a certified food protection manager certificate; chicken wasn’t cooked to the required temperature before being plated; temperatures of papricash and rice made last night are elevated because they are improperly cooling in deep containers, stacked, with lids on; temperatures of sliced cheese, satarash, goulash, rice and cabbage are elevated; menu doesn’t have a consumer advisory and asterisks linking to food items that are cooked to order; boxes of beer and wine incorrectly stored directly on floor at bar area; lowboy unit on cook line has a torn gasket; there is a gap greater than one inch on hood filters on cook line; observed buildup/grease/debris on hood filters, on sides and in between equipment, under grill on cook line, on top of knife holder next to sandwich unit and on racks throughout kitchen; observed sticker residue on plastic containers on clean rack; floor tiles in back kitchen are cracked; one ceiling light is out above reach-in freezer.

Starbucks Coffee Company, 2363 Roux Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: paper towel dispenser in back kitchen is empty; ice chest next to bean grinder is dripping water onto the floor; floor drain covers/grates are starting to show dark buildup.

MAY 1

Hibachi House, 3456 Lauderdale Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperature of grilled onions is too low; raw shell eggs were left out at room temperature; temperatures of salad cups and sauces in front prep unit are elevated; salmon incorrectly thawing in reduced oxygen packaging; mop sink doesn’t have a dual check valve installed; walls at pass-thru window and in the dish area are dirty; hood filters are greasy.

Firehouse Subs, 4028-K Cox Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: Freestyle Coke spout has buildup; cutting boards are heavily scratched; some lids have chips and cracks; several surfaces are dirty (lowboy gaskets, mini floor fan, racks over back prep tables, drying rack, chemical rack and wall behind chemical rack); floors under equipment and tables need cleaning; cardboard pile in back kitchen needs to be removed.
