Franco’s Italian Restaurant, 9010 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: to-go containers stored on a dusty surface on top of prep units; prep unit cutting board is heavily stained and scratched; fryer baskets are in disrepair (metal is badly bent); wire storage racks in walk-in cooler are heavily rusted; observed dust buildup on ceiling panels and vent near cook line.

Starbucks Coffee Company, 8800 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: milk residue found inside reach-in coolers; observed food debris on counters and storage rack for syrups; a few of the pitchers, lids and white syrup containers are stained; observed buildup of food debris and grime on floor under ice machine, at three-compartment sink and in back corner of make line under coffee makers; floor under dish machine is no longer smooth and easily cleanable.

Fat Boy’s Bar + Grill, 2 West Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: dishes, dish soap and a sponge were found at the hand sink in the front service area (hand sinks are for handwashing only); no date marks found on grilled chicken, pico de gallo, coleslaw, etc. in the prep top units on the cook line; plastic containers are stacked while still wet on rack in dry storage area; rack across from dish machine is rusty; observed heavy limescale buildup inside dish machine; outside of prep units on cook line are dirty with crumbs and food debris; floors behind fryers and around dish area are dirty.

Sandston Bistro & Shake, 18 East Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperature of fries next to fryer is too low; no date marks found on lasagna, BBQ pork and spaghetti in the prep unit; food incorrectly stored on floor of walk-in cooler; observed grease buildup on side of fryer and racks across from fryer; walls are dirty.

Gogi Bibimbap, 8902-A West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: hand sink is blocked with bucket of glass noodles; hydrated glass noodles in water are sitting out at room temperature; no date marks found on fried tofu in reach-in cooler or kimchi in prep unit; raw shell eggs sitting out on the cook line are on time control but time is not being tracked; salt and sugar on the cook line and corn starch in back kitchen are not labeled with the common name; observed heavy grease buildup on fry baskets; ceiling vent above hand sink in kitchen is very dusty.

Mi Mariachi Restaurant and Night Club, 3112-A Northside Avenue – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: facility couldn’t provide test strips for chlorine dish machine.

A Sharper Palate Catering, 5511 Lakeside Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: shellstock tag was removed from a box of oysters; several foods in the reach-in are past their expiration dates (pickled onions, green beans, parsnips, pimento cheese, salsas and TCS sauces); temperatures of pork BBQ and spinach dip are elevated because they are wrapped while cooling; observed shucked oysters in single-service containers without the original container information; didn’t observe a way to test the high temp dish machine; facility couldn’t provide test strips for three-compartment sink; ceiling tiles throughout the kitchen are heavily stained; observed chipping paint throughout, especially around three-compartment sink area; drain boards are being held up by extra pieces of the floor.

Dunkin Donuts, 10260 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: the front hand sink is being used as a dump/rinse sink for blender containers (hand sinks are for handwashing only); stir spoons incorrectly stored in standing water; observed dust and food debris buildup on surfaces of coffee makers, dispensers, wire racks and fan grates in walk-in cooler, and on prep counters.

Subway, 4386 South Laburnum Avenue – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

MPM Tiki Bar, 11275 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: no supervisors or managers are certified food protection managers; person in charge isn’t aware of an employee health policy or training; facility doesn’t have established procedures for cleaning up vomit/diarrhea; observed employees fail to wash hands after handling raw meat and chemicals and before continuing food prep; several hand sinks don’t have paper towels; hand sink near walk-in cooler is blocked; hand sink on the cook line is being used as a dump sink as food was found in it (hand sinks are for handwashing only); hand sink near dish wash area doesn’t have hand soap; observed blue mold on top of broth in walk-in cooler; oranges in walk-in cooler are moldy and spoiled; raw beef incorrectly stored above ready-to-eat fruit used as garnishes in drinks (liquid is dripping onto the fruit); there is 0 ppm sanitizer in dish machine; temperature of rice in prep unit is elevated; temperatures of cooked pork belly and ground chicken are elevated; several prepared items are older than 24 hours with no date marks; menu doesn’t contain a consumer advisory for the ceviche that can be served raw and/or undercooked; chemical spray bottles are unlabeled; first aid items (burn cream, spray) are incorrectly stored with food and clean utensils and equipment; containers of bleach incorrectly stored on shelf with food and equipment; fish improperly thawing in reduced oxygen packaging; several bottles and containers of food are unlabled; bowls of salt on the front of the bar are uncovered; bottles of alcohol and other beverages are being stored in the same ice that is used for beverages at the bar; scoops are stored in dirty water on the service line; all prep unit cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained; observed dust and food debris on surfaces of prep counters, wire storage racks, fan grates in walk-in coolers, grills, fryers, inside reach-in coolers and on rolling carts; observed mildew buildup on beer lines and some food packaging in the cooler; trash receptacles are not provided in the women’s restroom; wet mop is not hung to air dry; observed buildup of dried food debris and grime on floors and walls; ceiling panels and vents are dusty.

IHOP Restaurant, 1601 Willow Lawn Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have written procedures for cleaning up vomit/diarrhea; service hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; temperature of hashbrowns is too low; make table on the service line is not keeping foods at the proper temperature; no date found on open cooked sausage links; observed many small flies by dish machine floor drain; cardboard should not be reused for secondary storage; observed buildup on exterior of waffle iron; floor under dish tables and three-compartment sink are dirty; there is ice buildup inside walk-in freezer; coving is missing on wall beside walk-in freezer door.

Full Kee Restaurant, 6400 Horsepen Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have written procedures for cleaning up vomit/diarrhea; slicer found with food residue on blades and guards; scissors, mandolins, slicers, can opener and flat baking trays are dirty; temperature of pork shreds in large make table is elevated because it is double-nested; five-spice powder is unlabeled; observed many wet dirty clothes sitting out throughout kitchen (keep in sanitizer between uses); perforated container for steamed buns has lime buildup; wooden bucket used to make tofu, wooden board used to make pancakes and strainer with bamboo handle cannot be used because only hard maple is allowed for food contact; a dirty cloth was found attached to a metal strainer; interior of bar chest cooler is rusty; several surfaces are soiled (tea urn table, steam table reservoir and edges, shelves beside make table/cook line, large water pot, oil pan on wok line, exterior of large pots, pipes along hood system, interior of McCall refrigerator, front wok line, five-spice bin, fan on butcher block table, drawer and contents of butcher block table, three-compartment sink and faucets, splash guards and drip tray to back stove, fryer vents, exterior of dish machine, chest freezer, and mixer splash area); several areas are soiled (walk-in freezer and refrigerator floors and threshold, floor by PVC pipe running behind microwave/slicer table, floor behind fryers, floor under dish machine, ceiling vent in employee restroom, and walk-in freezer door).
