Zorba’s Greek-Italian Cuisine, 9068 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: food bits found inside hand sink near cook line and ice cubes found inside hand sink at service station in kitchen (hand sinks are for handwashing only); observed four dented cans in dry storage; raw calamari incorrectly stored over fries in lowboy unit on cook line; temperature of tomatoes prepared last night is elevated; temperature of unsalted butter out on stove overnight is elevated; temperatures of cheese, spinach, and tomato mixture are elevated; temperatures of marinara, double-panned rice and green beans are too low; didn’t observe a time control policy for feta cheese placed on time control at service station in kitchen; temperatures of feta cheese, tomatoes, sliced tomatoes, spanakopita and lasagna are elevated; multiple foods incorrectly stored on walk-in freezer floor; multiple to-go trays are stored uninverted on cook line shelf; racks in walk-in cooler are rusty; multiple refrigeration units in kitchen have torn gaskets; observed chipped plates on cook line shelf; there is a gap between hood filters above pizza oven; multiple cutting boards are heavily scratched; observed buildup/debris/grease in between equipment, under fryers, on hood filters on cook line, on racks in walk-in cooler, and on top of dish machine in dish room; fan guards in walk-in cooler are dusty; there is a leak under and on top of cold water faucet at hand sink on cook line; floors throughout kitchen have low grouting; two ceiling lights are out in service area of kitchen.

Chick-fil-A, 9100 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: hot water at hand sink next to fry station for chicken doesn’t reach the required temperature; internal sanitizing temperature at high temp dish machine doesn’t get hot enough; temperature of multiple kale salads in lowboy units are elevated; air temperature of lowboy unit near reach-in freezer is elevated; temperatures of chicken salad, grilled chicken wrap and mac and cheese are elevated because of improper cooling methods; two small cutting boards and one green cutting board are heavily scratched.

Crustacean Boil ‘N Grill, 8902-C West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperature of garlic butter on stove top is too low; ice container at bar is uncovered; bin of seasoning incorrectly stored on floor in dry storage room; racks in walk-in cooler and in kitchen are rusty; walk-in cooler racks are dirty; floors throughout have low grouting; paint is chipping on walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer doors; floors are dirty, especially in corners and edges of kitchen.

HogsHead Café, 8902-D West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: didn’t observe a time control policy for hush puppy mix on time control; dish room area ceiling is dusty.

Virginia House of Soul Cocktail Grill, 3406 Mechanicsville Turnpike – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: chicken breading is unlabeled; paper incorrectly lining shelving at bar.

Firehouse Subs, 9069 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: sanitizer concentration is too low at three-compartment sink; temperatures of pastrami and corned beef in back reach-in cooler are elevated; prep and single cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained; floor grease trap cover is badly rusted and has a hole; observed dust buildup on ceiling panel vents and menu lights above food prep/storage area.

Tarrants West, 11129 Three Chopt Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: an employee changed gloves but failed to wash hands after handling raw fish and before handling a ready-to-eat sandwich; hot water at three hand sinks doesn’t reach the required temperature; hand sink at the end of the bar is missing hand soap and a handwash sign; coleslaw incorrectly stored next to raw beef and raw eggs incorrectly stored next to deli ham in lowboy unit on cook line; observed debris on multiple tongs stored clean; mahi placed on top of taco ingredients on cook line and burger taken out of the oven were not cooked to the required temperature; observed incorrect temperatures for shrimp mixture, cooked onions, quinoa, rice, sausage and tomatoes because of improper cooling methods; temperatures of marinara and black beans in steam table are too low; temperatures of chicken salad, Caesar dressing with raw egg, crab cake, spinach and artichoke dip, pancakes, meatballs, chickpeas, chicken wings and deli turkey are elevated; did not observe specified foods on written time control policy posted throughout kitchen; tuna incorrectly thawing in reduced oxygen packaging in lowboy unit; foods incorrectly stored on walk-in cooler floor; knives incorrectly stored in between crevices of sandwich units on cook line; pans on clean rack in dish room and on shelf in prep area are stacked while still wet; to-go containers on cook line shelf and in pizza station are not stored inverted; multiple cutting boards throughout kitchen are heavily scratched; reach-in unit at pizza station has a torn gasket; racks in both walk-in coolers and in dry storage area are rusty; one light bulb is out at hood system on cook line; there is a gap in between hood filters at end of cook line; gaskets on lowboy unit on cook line are moldy; observed buildup/debris/grease under fryers, on light bulb covers and in between equipment on cook line; there is buildup on shelves behind cook line and on racks throughout kitchen; observed sticker residue on multiple pans on rack in dish area; some floor tiles are cracked; floors throughout kitchen have low grouting; bottom of wall where hot water heater is located is deteriorating; observed debris/buildup on wall and on floor at end of cook line where fry station is located; slight buildup found in floor corners at bar and on floor and wall near dish machine; ceiling vents and surrounding ceiling tiles in prep area, behind cook line and in dish area are dusty; wall is stained where soda boxes are stored.

Sea by Thai Restaurant, 2452 Old Brick Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed employee’s open beverages on counter next to clean dishes; observed food debris on peeler and knife stored on magnetic strip; mop is not hung to air dry; ceiling and vents are dusty.

Mona Lounge, 2442 Old Brick Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed an employee smoking hookah in the kitchen; observed an employee cutting limes for drinks with bare hands; ice deflector in ice machine has pink slime; quat sanitizer concentration at three-compartment sink is too high; chemical spray bottles in kitchen and at new bar are unlabeled; bar dish machine is broken; wooden serving boards are cracked; pipes are leaking under kitchen hand sink; jacket incorrectly stored on shelf with clean dishes.

Texas Roadhouse, 10075 Jeb Stuart Parkway – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: open can of soda found on salad prep unit; an employee changed gloves after handling raw fish but failed to wash hands; observed an employee wipe gloves on clothes and then plate lettuce with the same gloved hands; there is 0 ppm sanitizer in bar dish machine; high temp dish machine didn’t reach the required temperature; final cook temperature of chicken, salmon and prime rib didn’t meet the required 140 degrees; temperature of pulled pork is too low; clean plates are stored in a way that they can be re-contaminated with food and debris; silverware is not being stored inverted; observed heavy ice buildup in freezer and on pipes of meat walk-in; front panels of equipment on cook lines and booster are missing; cutting boards along cook line are heavily scratched and stained; coving tiles are missing in dry storage area; there are cracked floor tiles throughout; ceiling tiles in dish area are damaged.

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, 4402 South Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: can opener holder is dirty; walls behind hot holding units are dirty; two wet mops are not hung to air dry.

Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches, 9018 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: sanitizer concentration in three-compartment sink is at 0 ppm; temperature of three containers of lettuce cut this morning is elevated; several bottles of vinegar and oil are unlabeled; prep cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained.

Go’Dragon Asian Grill, 4945 Nine Mile Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: sponge found in hand sink on front line and a to-go tray found inside kitchen hand sink (hand sinks are for handwashing only); observed four dented cans on can rack in kitchen; raw shrimp incorrectly stored over garlic and oil in lowboy unit and over carrots and cut cabbage in walk-in cooler; chlorine level at three-compartment sink is at 0 ppm; there is buildup on can opener blade in prep area; observed pink and black mold on plastic panel of ice machine in kitchen; there is slight buildup inside tea nozzle on front line; temperatures of fried General Tso’s chicken and garlic and oil made last night are elevated because of improper cooling methods; white powders on cook line in kitchen are unlabeled; foods are incorrectly stored on the floor in dining area, kitchen cook line and in walk-in freezer; boxes of single-service items incorrectly stored on the floor in dining area; to-go containers are not stored inverted on cook line shelf and front service line; cardboard shouldn’t be lining shelves on cook line in kitchen; lowboy unit on cook line has a torn gasket; observed ice accumulation inside of reach-in freezer; observed buildup/debris/grease in between equipment, on pipes, under fryers, in between fryers and wok station, inside of can opener holder on prep table, on tops of cans and dry can storage rack, and on racks in walk-in cooler; walk-in cooler fan guards, bottoms of cabinets in front service area and kitchen shelves are dusty; floors throughout kitchen have low grouting; observed debris/buildup/grease on floors and walls in kitchen, especially on cook line and in dish area; ceiling vents in front service area are dusty.

Five Guys Burgers & Fries, 1071 Virginia Center Parkway – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

Subway Sandwiches & Salads, 4014 Glenside Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: prep unit cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained; observed food debris on wire storage racks and containers under prep table; toasters are dusty.
