Quioccasin Middle School, 9400 Quioccasin Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: ice cubes found in hand sink on right side of kitchen (hand sinks are for handwashing only); observed food debris on scoops stored clean in prep area and on slicers stored clean on shelf; improper cooling method used for taco meat; boxes of single-service items incorrectly stored on the floor in dry storage room; to-go trays and boats are not stored inverted on shelves or serving line; there is a buildup of ice on the pipes in walk-in freezer; cutting boards in prep area are heavily scratched; observed low grouting on floors throughout kitchen.

Arthur Ashe Elementary School, 1001 Cedar Fork Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: dish machine is not working (person in charge states repair is in process); a light is out in the hood system.

Adams Elementary School, 600 South Laburnum Avenue – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

Skipwith Elementary School, 2401 Skipwith Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: legs of dish tables are rusty; paper shouldn’t be lining utensil drawers and equipment shelves.

Three Chopt Elementary School, 1600 Skipwith Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: shelves in mop room are made of bare (unsealed) wood; A/C unit on the dish room wall and the mop sink drain are dirty.

Red Robin America’s Gourmet Burgers & Spirits, 11784 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: interior of kettle had food residues remaining; can opener blade and interior of ice machine are dirty; gasket on lowboy freezer is torn; hood filters are dented; hood system is dark and charred; fridge and freezer gaskets and monitors in kitchen and expo are dirty; sides and grooves of cook line equipment have grease and grime buildup; dish rack near three-compartment sink feels sticky; beer cooler fan guards are dusty and the racks have debris on them; soda bag lines and equipment are very dusty; dish area hand sink has a leaky faucet; observed buildup along ceiling tiles over cook area make table; dish area wall and underneath equipment have mildew and staining; floor drains at the bar need cleaning.

Roma Ristorante Italiano, 8330 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: person in charge is unable to identify the “big six” foodborne illnesses and their associated symptoms; facility doesn’t have a written employee health policy; dish machine sanitizer concentration tested below 10 ppm; temperature of container of grilled onions is too low; temperatures of fresh mozzarella and tofu in salad prep unit are elevated; deli meat and lasagna do not have date marks; improper cooling methods observed for sauce and sliced tomatoes; single-use containers are being washed to reuse; observed broken/cracked wood on pizza paddle surface; prep unit cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained; butcher block prep table and board near cook line is no longer smooth and sealed.

Kung Fu Tea, 10827 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: back hand sink is obstructed by a large strainer; boba scoop incorrectly stored in standing water; black cutting board is very scratched; mounted fan in the kitchen and wall and ceiling over the cook area are coated in tea/boba dust.

The Mantu Market, 7510 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed an employee chewing gum; a drink without lid and straw incorrectly stored on prep table with bread; observed an employee handling ready-to-eat bread with bare hands; observed equipment not being sanitized after washing; sanitizer is not coming out of the dispenser; prep unit cutting board is scratched and stained; fryer is not located under the hood system.

Chadar Thai LLC, 8030-A West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed an employee fail to wash hands and change gloves after reentering the kitchen; back hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; observed an employee fail to sanitize large pots after washing at three-compartment sink; soda bottles incorrectly stored in ice bin at the bar (ice is being used in customers’ drinks); rice scoops incorrectly stored in water; prep unit cutting board is heavily scratched and stained; wire storage racks in walk-in cooler and dry storage room are rusty.

Frida’s Mexican Restaurant, 2903 Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have a written policy for cleaning up vomit/diarrhea; employee drink incorrectly stored on the cook line; employee restroom doesn’t have paper towels; raw chicken incorrectly stored above limes in walk-in cooler; there is zero bleach sanitizer in the dish machine; refried beans and rice in the walk-in cooler are not date marked; Pepto Bismal and other medicines incorrectly stored next to spices on the cook line; food incorrectly stored on the floor in walk-in cooler and onions incorrectly stored on the floor in the hallway; rice incorrectly stored in a plastic grocery bag in a metal bin in the hot holding steam table; shelves on prep tables are dirty; interior of broken prep unit is moldy/dirty; outdoor dumpster area is cluttered with trash and debris; floor and wall behind/under three-compartment sink are dirty.

Douglas Wilder Middle School, 6900 Wilkinson Road – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: light in the walk-in cooler isn’t working.

Johnson Elementary School, 5600 Bethlehem Road – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: temperature of salad mixture cooling in the reach-in is elevated because the container is covered.

Montrose Elementary School, 4901 Brittles Lane – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

Tuckahoe Elementary School, 701 Forest Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: three deli meats do not have date marks; time control policy needs to be updated to reflect what the present manager intends to do; a white powder is unlabeled; facility doesn’t have heat tapes for the dish machine; mop sink doesn’t have a dual check valve installed; floor behind dish machine and floor drain are soiled; light shield in bathroom has many dead bugs in it; restroom doesn’t have ventilation.

Pinchbeck Elementary School, 1225 Gaskins Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperature of yogurt that was delivered during inspection is elevated; observed food debris on three scoops stored clean in drawer; sides of metal panel of ice machine are rusty; observed yellow water coming out of hand sink in kitchen and at two-compartment sink when both were turned on; observed low grouting on floor throughout the kitchen.

Dumbarton Elementary School, 9000 Hungary Spring Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: wire racks in six-door reach-in cooler are rusty; paint is peeling on interior of hood system; kitchen ceiling panels are not smooth, easily cleanable and nonabsorbent.

Maybeury Elementary School, 901 Maybeury Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed food debris greater than one day old on two knives and one pizza cutter stored clean in drawer; temperature of milk in unit at beginning of lunch line is elevated; air temperature of this unit is elevated; reach-in unit near lunch line has torn gaskets; cutting boards on shelf under prep table are heavily scratched; observed low grouting on floors throughout the kitchen; laundry room ceiling has a hole; one of the ceiling lights above walk-in cooler is flickering.

McDonald’s, 7118 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: an employee’s bare hands are coming into contact with fries as they were putting them into the carton; food prep employees are wearing bracelets; wood on soda storage shelf is not sealed or painted; observed grease and food buildup under grills.

China Taste, 2623 New Market Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: garlic in oil on the cook line is not at the correct temperature; sanitizer spray bottle and bucket of degreaser at back hand sink are unlabeled; soy sauce and spices incorrectly stored on kitchen floor; several food containers incorrectly stored on walk-in freezer floor; wet wiping cloth not stored in sanibucket; there is zero bleach in sanibucket; floor behind cook line equipment is greasy.
