Panda Express, 4501 South Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperature of chicken on the cook line is too low; salt in a metal bin on the cook line is unlabeled; clear plastic containers are stacked wet; mop sink has a leak.

Tony’s Grill RVA, 1420 North Parham Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed a drink sitting out without a lid; temperatures of tomatoes and cheese are elevated; observed used breading on the counter; package of open bologna doesn’t have a date mark; temperature of cooked potatoes in sealed bag in reach-in is elevated; make table is not working; mops are not being hung to dry.

Skrimp Shack, 4760 Finlay Street – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: bulk bins of flour and sugar are unlabeled; mop sink doesn’t have a dual check valve installed; ceiling over three-compartment sink is dusty; ceiling in walk-in cooler is dirty.

New Dragon City, 2220 John Rolfe Parkway – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: temperature of garlic in oil is elevated.

Marco’s Pizza, 7000 Forest Avenue – No violations reported during a follow-up inspection.

Penn Station East Coast Subs, 9320-C West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: lowboy units on front line have torn gaskets; measuring bowls are cracked; there is a gap between the hood filters on the grill.

International House of Pancakes, 9820 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: an employee didn’t wash hands for at least 20 seconds; raw ground beef incorrectly stored next to quinoa in lowboy unit on cook line; observed food debris greater than one day old on vegetable slicer on prep table and on scoops stored clean in dish area; temperatures of crepe, lettuce, individual containers of mac and cheese and pre-portioned chicken in prep top unit on cook line are elevated; temperatures of unsalted butter and bacon are elevated; pancake batter, bacon on grill top and pork sausage don’t have written times marked; unsalted butter at service station has the incorrect discard time written.

Kroger, 9000 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: ladle used for gravy is stored in water but the water is not hot enough; temperature thermometers on the dish machine are not working; observed food debris and limescale buildup inside dish machine; observed food debris and flour on surfaces of prep tables, wire racks and carts, ovens and fryers; floor throughout the kitchen is peeling and in disrepair.

Yummy of Richmond, 6023 Nine Mile Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: cooked chicken is improperly cooling at room temperature; buckets of food incorrectly stored on floor of walk-in cooler; rice scoop is stored in water but the water is not hot enough; egg cartons are being reused for various purposes throughout the kitchen; newspaper should not be used to line egg roll baskets; observed dried food debris and grime buildup on microwave and the unit it’s sitting on; hand sink is slow to drain; observed grease and dried food debris buildup under the cook line; hood system has buildup of grease.

Longhorn Steakhouse, 11311-A West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed food particles on three utensils stored clean; temperatures of sour cream on the cook line and shredded cheese on expo are elevated; one light is burned out under the hood; dish rack is rusty; dishwasher caulk is wearing off; equipment surfaces on the cook line are greasy; walk-in cooler fan grate is dusty; top of dishwasher is dirty; mop sink doesn’t have a dual check valve installed; three-compartment sink is leaking near handle; faucet at the bar hand sink is leaking; all walls and nearly all of the ceiling in the kitchen had yellow and brown staining; floor of walk-in freezer is littered with trash and soils; paneling in the dish area has heavy mildew buildup in crevices; grout throughout the kitchen is dirty; hood filters are dirty.

Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits, 2318 East Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: fries are being held at the incorrect temperature; multiple light bulbs in the hot holding unit are out or missing; observed dried food debris inside reach-in freezer, on speed racks and on walk-in cooler door; observed low grout throughout the kitchen.

Cheng Du Chinese Restaurant, 9503-C West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: two hand sinks don’t have soap; hand sink near dish area is blocked by mopping equipment; paper towel dispenser is not working at hand sink in dish area; in the lowboy unit on cook line—raw eggs incorrectly stored in between garlic and ketchup, raw chicken incorrectly stored next to cooked chicken and cooked beef, and raw beef incorrectly stored next to parcooked duck and cooked chitlins; in the walk-in cooler—cooked shrimp and chicken incorrectly stored next to raw shrimp and raw pork, raw chicken incorrectly stored above tofu and potatoes, and raw eggs incorrectly stored next to tofu; observed debris greater than one day old on knife and tongs on cook line, knife in knife holder in prep area, on prep table, on scissors in drawer, and on utensils behind cook line; observed debris on can opener blade in prep area and buildup on plastic panel and sides of ice machine in dry storage area; chlorine level is at 0 ppm in dish machine; multiple food items made two days ago do not have date marks (pork belly, dumplings, chicken, calamari, beef tenderloin, lo mein noodles and General Tso’s chicken); soap and Febreeze should not be stored next to soy sauce and seasoning oil; chemical bottles should not be stored next to clean dishes; improper cooling methods used for tofu cooling in a deep container and chicken cooling in a deep container with saran wrap; facility doesn’t have a food thermometer; multiple white powders on the cook line are unlabeled; observed an opening on the bottom of exit door; two live roaches found on wall and near floor drain in dish area; one small fly found in kitchen near cook line; soda boxes, oil boxes, beer box, and boxes of chili paste and noodles are incorrectly stored on the floor in several areas; to-go boxes are not stored inverted in dining area, on shelf on and behind cook line, and on shelf in prep area; cutting boards on cook line are heavily stained and scratched; plates on shelf in dish area are chipped; lowboy unit on cook line has a torn gasket; walk-in cooler racks are rusty; dish machine is not working properly; observed debris on fryer baskets on cook line, outside of metal containers stored clean, on top of dish machine, on shelves and racks throughout, and inside of microwave; observed debris/grease on all hood filters, above and below hood filters, on bulbs at hood system, sides of equipment on cook line, and on top of stove; fan on clean rack in dish area is dusty; faucet at hand sink in prep area is leaking; mop sink faucet doesn’t have a dual check valve installed; walls throughout are stained; ceiling on cook line and ceiling near exit door have holes; floor tiles near doorway in dish area are cracked; some ceiling tiles in storage room are missing; paint is chipping on walls near exit door.
