Table of Contents

Registration is now open for the Cap2Cap bike ride, which will take place May 6 and 7 along the scenic Virginia Capital Trail.

Celebrating its 17th year, the family-friendly custom ride experience features a paved course separated from vehicle traffic, multiple distances, and a post-ride party with a live DJ and local artisans.

Other benefits of The CapCenter Cap2Cap Presented by Dominion Energy include a flexible open start format, course support, fully stocked rest stops, cheer zones, sample ride itineraries, a lunch and beverage ticket and on-site pick up. Distance options include the 7- to 10-mile Sentara Family Fun Ride, Cap Trail Quarter Century, Virginia Credit Union Half Century, or Cap Trail Century Ride. For cyclists seeking an additional challenge, there is also a new 2-Day Challenge. Cyclists unable to take part on a ride day can select a distance goal and ride virtually between May 1-May 31.

The after-parties, sponsored by Quirk Hotel and James City County Parks and Recreation, will take place May 6 at Chickahominy Riverfront Park and May 7 at Dorey Park.

For registration and event details, visit virginiacapitaltrail.org. Registration fees range from $35 to $80, with a price increase Feb. 7. Registration includes an event bib, t-shirt, water bottle, drawstring bag, one raffle entry, and a 10% discount code to the online Trail store. Commemorative Bingo Beer Cap2Cap jerseys are also available for purchase.  All proceeds benefit the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation.
