Radio One Richmond to host 'Send-a-Kid-to-Camp' radiothon

Henrico-based Radio One Richmond will host its 12th annual “Send-A-Kid-to-Camp” radiothon May 9 from 8 a.m to 8 p.m. on its family of stations.

The effort, in partnership with Richmond Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities and the Enrichmond Foundation, is designed to help send children 6 to 15 years old to the PRCF's summer day camps and fall after-school programs.

The event will be broadcast on:
• WCDX – iPower 92.1FM/104.1FM;
• WKJS – KISS 99.3FM/105.7FM;
• WPZZ – Praise 104.7FM;
• WXGI – ESPN 99.5FM/ 102.7FM/950AM.

Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney, Richmond Sheriff Antoinette Irving, Senator Roslyn Dance and other community leaders will help kick off the event at Radio One's West End studios.

“My goal is to keep children and young adults safe all year long through scholarships for the summer day camps and fall after school programs,” said Radio One’s Miss Community Clovia.
