Raceway shows to excite fans of country, rock, Dead

Fans of country, hard rock and the Dead will converge on Virginia Credit Union Live! at Richmond Raceway this month for three separate shows.

Country singer-songwriter Cody Jinks will play Aug. 10 at 8 p.m. and will be joined by special guests Ward Davis and Josh Morningstar. Jinks first emerged as a solo artist in the mid-2000s. His 2016 release “I’m Not the Devil” hit No. 4 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. His latest release is “Lifers.” Tickets start at $25.

Skillet and Sevendust, co-headliners of the Victorious War Tour, will play Aug. 13 at 6:45 p.m. They will be joined by special guests Pop Evil and Devour The Day. Skillet’s latest album, “Unleashed,” debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and the first single “Feel Invincible” went to No. 1 on the Rock Radio chart. Grammy Award-nominated, gold- certified hard rock band Sevendust recently released their twelfth full-length album, “All I See Is War.” Tickets start at $32.

And Aug. 15, Dark Star Orchestra will play at 8 p.m. For more than 20 years and more than 2,700 shows, Dark Star Orchestra has presented the Grateful Dead concert experience. Their shows are built off the Dead’s extensive 30-year catalog, allowing for a unique set list at each performance. Tickets start at $27.
