Pupatella to open in Henrico this fall

Table of Contents

Pupatella, the Neapolitan pizzeria with two current Virginia locations (Arlington and Richmond’s Fan District), soon will expand to western Henrico.

Local franchise owner Zeeshan Kaba announced recently he has signed a lease for his second Pupatella location at 10921 West Broad Street in Glen Allen and expects to open the restaurant this fall. The newest Pupatella will be 2,200 square feet and have seating for 105 in its dining room and outdoor patio.

The only restaurant in Richmond certified by the Naples-based Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, Pupatella makes its pizza according to the nearly 150-year-old Neapolitan technique. Only wood-fired ovens are permitted; the dough is made of only four ingredients: 00 Italian flour, sea salt, fresh yeast and water.

Kaba, the company’s franchisee for the Richmond metro area, plans to develop a total of four Pupatella pizzerias. His first is located at 1 N. Morris Street in the city’s Fan District.

Pupatella started as a food truck in 2007 and moved to its first location in Arlington, Virginia, in 2010.  For details, visit Pupatella.com.
