UPDATE: 9:31 A.M. – The first planned protest in Henrico County related to the George Floyd murder in Minnesota is scheduled to begin at noon Wednesday at Short Pump Town Center and travel east along West Broad Street, according to organizers.

The Citizen has not been able to confirm the plans with Henrico Police, but this morning, GRTC announced that it would temporarily suspend service on its Route 19, between Willow Lawn and West Broad Marketplace in Short Pump, in anticipation of the event. The last bus from Willow Lawn heading west left at 9 a.m., and the last one to leave the Aldi location in Short Pump will do so at 10:10 a.m.

Organizers are calling the event the "804 Peaceful Police Brutality/Black Lives Matter Protest," according to social media posts.
