Hello, I'm Tommy Branin, your Three Chopt District Supervisor.

Since being elected in 2015, one of my main concerns has been the traffic situation in Henrico County and the Short Pump area. I understood the frustration of our residents and committed myself to finding a solution.

In 2019, I rolled out a comprehensive traffic plan.

The first step was to expand Three Chopt Road from Pocahontas Elementary School to Pemberton Road. This expansion would provide a much-needed alternative route for our residents who live on the south side of Broad Street. The process took some time as I had to acquire a significant amount of land on behalf of the county.

I am excited to announce that this process is now complete, and we will start building the road at the beginning of next year!

The second step, which took eight years to accomplish, was to create a new entrance and exit off of I-64 at North Gayton. This interchange is crucial for reducing traffic for everyone living on the north side of Broad Street.

Henrico County has committed to the Virginia Department of Transportation the Phase II redesign and construction plans for the I-64 and Broad Street interchange. This will alleviate traffic and increase safety for the entire Short Pump area.

It is a testament to the power of bipartisan cooperation that we secured approval from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in just two weeks - a process that usually takes two years. This achievement shows that when we work together for the good of the people we represent, we can accomplish great things.

Although there is one environmental study left for North Gayton before construction can begin, I am confident that with your support and my re-election, I'll finish what I started on this important project. What I began in 2015 is finally coming to fruition in 2023, and I am proud to say - I'm keeping my promise.

As we look to the future, I humbly ask for your vote on Tuesday, November 7th, so we can continue this crucial work. Together, we can make Henrico an even better place to live. Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,
Tommy Branin
Three Chopt District Supervisor
