“We take anything of this nature seriously, and the safety of our students and staff members is our top priority,” said Beth Teigen, Henrico County Public Schools’ chief of staff.

Highland Springs High School Principal Ken White sent an email to the Highland Springs community early Wednesday morning, informing the community of the situation and advising parents to follow normal attendance practices if their children would not be attending school.

A school in the Richmond area was also targeted by the alleged threats, according to Henrico Police.
