The Henrico Planning Commission Wednesday approved plans of development for several projects in the county, clearing the way for them to proceed.

The commission approved subdivision plans for a 67-acre site at 8801 Telegraph Road in Glen Allen, near Georgia Avenue, where a developer is planning 208 town homes on one tract and a future condominium development on another parcel, as well as business uses on a third section.

It also approved Sheetz's plans to build a 6,000-square-foot store on about nine acres at the corner of South Airport Drive and Audubon Drive – just across the street from an existing Wawa location. The new Sheetz will include a drive-through and gas pumps.

Plans from 7-Eleven to demolish its existing store at 1125 New Market Road in Varina and build g anew 3,000-square-foot store there also earned the commission's approval. The new facility will include fuel pumps – something not available at the existing one – and a rest area for cyclists who use the Virginia Capital Trail, which crosses through the site.

Commissioners also approved a plan of development for Chase Bank, which intends to build a new branch on the site of the former Extra Billy’s restaurant at 5202 West Broad Street. The company plans to demolish the existing building and construct a 3300-square foot bank with a drive through ATM.
