The Partnership for Housing Affordability's Board of Directors announced recently that Jovan Burton has been promoted to executive director of the organization.

In his previous role as director of implementation, Burton was responsible for implementing the Richmond Regional Housing Framework, a multi-year plan to increase access to housing across Chesterfield, Hanover, and Henrico counties, the City of Richmond, and Town of Ashland.

Burton holds a bachelor of arts degree from Hampden-Sydney College and a master’s degree in public administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Since joining PHA, he has collaborated with representatives from local government, community development corporations, private development, and grassroots organizations. He also created and manages the Housing Resource Line, a coordinated entry point for housing resources to residents in eight jurisdictions.

Before joining PHA, Burton worked for Virginia Housing, previously called Virginia Housing Development Authority.
