Pedestrian struck and killed in Henrico

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a pick-up truck in Henrico County on New Year’s Day.
The incident happened just after 11 p.m. at the intersection of Staples Mill Road and Old Staples Mill Road, where the man had been struck. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Henrico Fire personnel shortly after they arrived.
The driver stopped and waited for authorities to arrive and cooperated with the investigation. A portion of Staples Mill Road was closed for several hours as police worked to investigate the incident.
