Passenger in Nov. 21 Henrico crash dies

A passenger involved in a two-vehicle crash in Northern Henrico County Nov. 21 has died from her injuries. Mary Arlene Battle, 75, of Henrico, died Dec. 1 at a local hospital, according to Henrico Police officials.

Battle was a passenger in a Honda Ridgeline that was struck by a Buick Encore, which was speeding on East Laburnum Avenue, according to an initial investigation by Henrico Police officials. The driver of the Ridgeline also was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The Encore and a Toyota Camry were speeding prior to the Encore colliding with the Ridgeline as it attempted to turn onto Pemberton Avenue. The crash happened just after 3:15 p.m.

Henrico Police and Henrico Fire officials who responded to the scene found two vehicles off the road following the collision, one overturned.
