Partnership for the Future honors Henrico HS graduate, others

The organization assists high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds in the Richmond region, and its annual celebration honored the new graduates and celebrated their college matriculation plans, internship experiences and individual scholarship awards.

The evening culminated with the announcement of the winners of the Kirshner Scholars Award, which includes a $5,000 scholarship named after the organization’s late founder, Alan Kirshner. The 2024 winners were Joyce Anthony, a graduate of Henrico High School; Jacqueline Dobbins, a graduate of Richmond Community High School; and Emerald Rutherford, a graduate of Open High School.

PFF’s year-round program includes 1:1 mentorship, college tours, paid summer internships with Richmond-area businesses, essay writing, public speaking, a 1:1 scholarship match up to $2,000 in a Virginia 529 account, and intense support throughout the college application process.
