Partner MD celebrating 20th anniversary

Henrico-based PartnerMD, which pioneered the concierge medicine model in Central Virginia, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. PartnerMD clients pay membership fees to have regular round-the-clock access to their physicians, who see only a limited number of patients. The organization, now owned by Henrico-based Markel Ventures, has three offices locally (including in the Near West End and Short Pump) as well as others in Northern Virginia, Baltimore, Greenville, and Atlanta.

“We are proud to call Henrico County home,” said CEO Zack Smith.  “As a founding member of the concierge medicine industry locally, Henrico has been a great place to do business since we first opened our doors 20 years ago, in 2003.  As more patients are looking for a better way to care for themselves and their loved ones, we are excited about our continued long-term growth potential.  From our first office in Henrico, we now have 33 physicians serving patients in seven offices across four states.”

To celebrate its 20-year anniversary, PartnerMD recently launched Wellness University, a program included as part of the PMD membership that focuses on the overall health and lifestyle improvements for members. Wellness University is integrated with the physician care and includes tools and information focused on topics such as managing stress, cognitive health, improving sleep, muscle growth and development, and diet. Each topic is instructed by certified health coaches and has beginner to more advanced levels so patients can continue to grow their knowledge and improve their overall health.
