The registered owner of the gun allegedly used by a 14-year-old suspect to murder 13-year-old Quioccasin Middle School student Lucia Bremer in March has been charged with a misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Henrico County Commonwealth’s Attorney Shannon Taylor announced Friday that 52-year-old Richard M. Pierce faces the charge. Pierce appeared in Henrico Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Sept. 30 in connection with the charge and is scheduled to return to the court Nov. 1 at 1 p.m.

Taylor previously had indicated that the teen suspect had gotten the gun from someone in his household. The teen was taken into custody March 27 at a home just blocks away from the site of the murder, which occurred March 26 along Hickoryridge Road, near a path leading to Godwin High School.

Taylor has said that investigators still have not determined any connection between Bremer and the suspect, who sources have told the Citizen also attended Quioccasin Middle School for a time (though it is unclear whether he was a student there at the time of the murder). Taylor did not indicate the relationship between the Pierce and the teen suspect, though sources have told the Citizen that at the time of the murder, the teen was living with acquaintances of his family.
