Our Lady of Hope launches cardiopulmonary therapy program

Our Lady of Hope Health Center recently announced the launch of a new, comprehensive cardiopulmonary therapy program for residents.

Care can be provided for cardiopulmonary needs due to ailments such as pneumonia, high blood pressure, respiratory failure, heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and more.

The new option for care will be offered through Respiratory Health Services (a division of Genesis Rehab Services), the largest provider of full-time respiratory therapy programs in the long-term care environment. Genesis Rehab already offers physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to Our Lady of Hope residents.

Rehabilitation is also available on an “outpatient” basis to individual patients who prefer to seek care at Our Lady of Hope instead of a hospital setting.

“By adding a dedicated respiratory therapist to our team, we will be filling a niche here in Richmond," said Denny Pregent, acting administrator of the community. "This program has a proven track record of improving care outcomes and reducing unwanted hospitalizations. No other community is currently offering anything like this.”
