Henrico County experienced only nine new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and one COVID-related hospitalization Tuesday, according to data released Wednesday by the Virginia Department of Health. It was the first time new cases in Henrico had been in the single-digits on a day since Aug. 2.

Only 15 new cases were reported in the county Tuesday.

Henrico's 7-day positivity percentage has decreased as well, reaching 3.5% as of Oct. 3, the most recent date for which that data is available. That’s more than a full percentage point below the statewide average of 4.8%.

On average during each of the past 7 calendar days, just 18 new confirmed cases of the virus have been reported in Henrico. The number of testing encounters reported among county residents this month has been down – below 700 every day except Oct. 1.
