Wesley Allen Ball, age 73 of Richmond, VA, passed away on August 3, 2024. He was born on February 1, 1951, and raised in Powhatan, VA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Omar Ball, Jr. He is survived by his sister, Betty Ball Bowman and her Husband, Joseph A. Bowman.

Wes retired in June 2013, returning to VA, after serving as Coordinator of Music Education at Western Connecticut State University. He earned a BME degree from Shenandoah University-Conservatory, a MM degree in Piano Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, along with an MA and PhD in Music Education from Case Western Reserve University.

From 2002 to 2016, he created listening lessons for John Jacobson’s Music Express Magazine and is the author of four books (Hal Leonard Corporation). Since 2013, he taught piano at The Center for Creative Arts, Glen Allen, VA.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Bliley’s Funeral Home, 3801 Augusta Avenue, Richmond, VA, 23230 on Thursday, August 8 at 1:00 p.m., with a reception to follow. Interment to be private.
