Troy Quentin Crider “Papa," “Sarge," “Quen," 97, of Henrico, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023, at home, surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Claire “Granny”, daughter, Barbara Jean, siblings, Huey, Roscoe, Portia, and Don.
He is survived by his children, Dale (Tinia), Gail (Bill), special caregivers, daughter, Joan and grandson in law, Nathan “Catfish”. Grandchildren, Kelly (Joel), Christy, Lisa, Alyssa, Michelle, and Quenten. Great grandchildren, Elijah, Ava Rose, Jaden, Nicole, Keion, and Patrick. Great great grandson, Romeo. Sister, Jean, brother-in-law, Curtis, and many nieces and nephews. Neighbor and friend, Peter.
Troy spent 8 years as a merchant marine and airplane mechanic in the U.S. Air Force. Before retiring from Nabisco after 25 years, he spent 25 years at DuPont, where he also retired.
His passions were tending to his quarter of an acre garden, bowling, and spending time with his family.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on February 20, 2022 at Woody Funeral Home 1771 N. Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229.
A graveside service will take place on February 21, 2022 at 12:00 at Westhampton Memorial park 10000 Patterson Ave, Richmond, VA 23238.
