Terry “TK” Kennedy Kinum, 79, passed away after a brief illness on August 22, 2022 and humbly joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven.

Terry was born in St Louis in 1942 to Don and Hope Kinum and spent his youth there with his older brother Don Jr, the family moved to Richmond where Terry graduated from Douglas Freeman HS, Terry attended University of Richmond and was commissioned an officer in the United States Navy. Terry served six years, much of his time with the Six Fleet during the Vietnam War achieving the rank of Lieutenant.

Terry bought into his father’s business, Pump and Equipment in 1971 and successfully operated it until he sold the company when he retired.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life Donna Jean Kinum, his wife of 20 years who passed away suddenly a little over three and a half years ago, of which Terry never recovered from grief and heartbreak. Terry and friends are very grateful to Vanessa Wall for keeping Terry safe and comfortable for the past three and a half years, you have undoubtedly earned a special place in Heaven.

Terry is survived by a brother Don Kinum Jr, a son Jeff Kinum, stepchildren Leigh Erica, Veronica Chappel (Cody), Brandon Wall (Samantha), and Vanessa Wall (Joe) and six grandchildren.

Those close to Terry would agree he was a fierce St Louis Cardinal fan, Dallas Cowboy fan, a Fanatic University of Richmond Fan, he was ejected on more than one occasion from a Spiders game. Terry was a true Sailor, a real salt and was quick to let you know how proud he was to serve. Terry loved to golf and participated in many charity events over the years. Terry was a proud “Trumper” and would get fired up easily with anyone that wanted to engage. Terry loved Black Labs and Bar B Q, but the crowning jewel of Terry’s life was his love for recovery. Terry celebrated forty years clean and sober this past June. He was a friend of Bill W and Jimmy K.

Terry spent countless hours helping hundreds of people find recovery, a true recovery warrior.

Terry was a founding board member of the McShin Foundation and contributed tremendously to the organization’s success.

A visitation will be held at Woody Funeral Home at 1771 N. Parham rd. August 30, 2022 from 5pm-9pm. A service will be held at Woody Funeral Home at 1771 N. Parham rd. August 31, 2022 at 11:30 am, immediately following interment at Greenwood Memorial Gardens 12609 Patterson Ave.
