Obituary - Sheila F. Shaw

Sheila F. Shaw, 82, of Henrico, VA passed through Heaven’s gate on Saturday, October 14, 2023. She is predeceased by her husband and best friend, Emerson W. Shaw and their son Brent Lynn Shaw.

She is survived by her devoted children Kimberly A. Yates (David), Scott E. Shaw (Annette), and Renee’ J. Tollison (Joe); Her adoring grandchildren Kristin L. Gross (Kent), Edward S. Shaw (Amelia), Lauren A. Rice (Brandon), Amber L. Shaw, Brooke L. Miniard (Larson), Sarah-Anne P. Shaw, David W. Yates Jr (Kayci) and Matthew C. Alfonso (Kayla); 11 great grandchildren as well as many step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and one step great-great grandchild.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved traveling in her motor home and visiting Disney World. Her favorite moments were spending holidays with her family, playing games and laughing until they cried. She retired after 35 years of service to Richmond City Public Schools Nutritional Services. Sheila was a pure heart who always saw things in a positive light. Her gentleness and caring spirit can be seen throughout the generations that follow her.

The family will accept visitors on Thursday, October 19 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Va 23231. Funeral service will be Friday, October 20 at 10:00 am at Nelsen with interment to follow at Washington Memorial Park.
