Sally Ann Anderson, 90, of Richmond (Henrico) passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, William L. and Sallie F. Woods and two step-brothers Thomas M. and William F. Overbey. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Ann Anderson, nieces, a nephew and her feline companion, Tommie.

As a young woman Sally worked for the State Highway Department of Virginia and in later years as an administrative assistant to the Director of Nursing at Elizabeth Adams Crump Health and Rehab. Always young in spirit, she continued working as a part-time receptionist at ManorCare until the age of 80.

Sally was a devoted member of Lakeside United Methodist Church where she had many wonderful friends. She had a pretty voice and enjoyed singing in the church choir and the annual musical revues. She was inspired by bible study, loved the fellowship of the Sunday evening knitting group and participated in many volunteer activities supporting the church and community. Earlier she was a member of Ginter Park United Methodist Church and served as the church’s librarian for many years.

Sally loved nature and being outdoors. She enjoyed sipping morning coffee on her porch, feeding the birds, and visiting the local parks. She had a talent for gardening and always had an array of plants and colorful flowers both inside and outdoors.

Sally was a loving mother, sweet and kind to friends and neighbors and as she grew older amazed everyone with her energy, independence and good humor. She will be dearly missed.

A grave side service will be held in Forest Lawn Cemetery on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 11 am. Donations in her memory may be made to Lakeside United Methodist Church.
