Obituary - Ruby Burnett Vaughan

Ruby B. Vaughan, 88 of Sandston, VA, passed away peacefully in her home on November 25, 2024, surrounded by family with her husband at her side.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest G. and Hazel P. Burnett, brother Ernest G. Burnett, Jr. (Sonny), sisters Doris Landers and Frances Callahan, son Arnold G. Vaughan, and grandson Ryan A. Vaughan.
She retired from Saunders & Benson, Inc. after a long career as a bookkeeper and insurance agent and then found joy working at The Women’s Club in her retirement. She was also a devoted member of the Sandston Moose Lodge and Antioch Baptist Church.
In her spare time, she loved playing games, traveling with her husband, girl’s trips to Myrtle Beach, and cooking and baking all of her well-loved specialties.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 70 years, Carlton A. Vaughan, sons Carlton A. Vaughan Jr. – Andy (Judy), and Randall Vaughan (Arlene), daughters Sandra Vaughan (Mike) and Cindy Falls (Allen), 9 grandchildren, Carlton A. Vaughan III – Trey, Tyler Vaughan, Dana Evans-Muller, Kasey Vaughan, Daniel Vaughan, Christina Vaughan, Kevin Falls, Ashley Helms, and Haley Falls along with her 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, December 2nd, 2pm-4pm & 6pm-8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home (4650 S Laburnum Ave). The funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, December 3rd at 2pm at the same location. Burial will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
