Robert “Hayden” Myer, 31, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 9, 2023. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Robert “Butch” Myer; mother, Clara Myer; his sister, Carrie Wilson Estes; and his aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and friends; all of whom he loved dearly. Hayden grew up in the Short Pump area and was a 2010 graduate of Mills E. Godwin High School. Hayden graduated with honors from Virginia Commonwealth University in December of 2014, earning a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. He went on to gain many mental health certifications, including Certified Peer Recovery Specialist by the Virginia Certification Board in 2016. Throughout his life he was passionate about mental health issues and he helped many struggling in his community through his work at rehabilitation centers. Hayden enjoyed his job at local art shop, MediaNoche, as the Store Manager. He was best known for his comedic jokes, infectious laugh, and ability to make anyone smile. Hayden was an empathetic, funny, and kind young man, and he will be deeply missed by many. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W Broad Street. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023 in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Avenue.
