Obituary - Robert Melvin Seay Sr.

SEAY, Robert M. Sr., 77, USAF MSGT Ret. of Highland Springs, VA, took his final flight on Nov 2, 2023. He grew up in the Southside of Richmond. He graduated from George Wythe High School in 1967. After graduation he entered the US Air Force, where he spent 20 years, two months and four days. After his retirement in 1987, he obtained his CDL and drove trucks for Fallen Mail Service until his health began to fail in 2011.

He was preceded in death by his father Walter (Buck) Seay Sr, his mother Eloise K. Seay, a son Christopher, and a brother Walter Seay Jr.

He is survived by his children; Sherry Slay (Bradley), Robert Jr (Carie), Jeffrey “Scott” (Denise), Amy Turner (Ross), Jamie Crigger (Adam), and Megan Seay. He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Additionally one sister, Jeanne Grady and a large extended family that includes one aunt, Betty Wernice Robertson, two ex wives and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 2 to 4 p.m., 6 to 8 p.m., Bliley’s - Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., Richmond, VA, 23230. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., on Monday Nov 13, 2023 at Shalom Baptist Church, 8116 Walnut Grove Rd Mechanicsville, VA 23111. Reception will immediately follow in the fellowship hall. Interment will be at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Ave Richmond, VA 23238. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made in his honor to the Wounded Warrior Project.
