Obituary - Richard A. Taylor

Richard "Rick" A. Taylor, 79, of Center Cross, VA, formally from Glen Allen, passed away suddenly, Sunday, March 12, 2023. Rick joined the United States Navy and upon discharge he joined the Henrico County Police Division. Rick would serve in multiple capacities to include Patrol, Investigative and the Marine Patrol. After 32 years with Henrico Police, Rick continued his career as a deputy for Essex County, serving as the Victim Witness Advocate for 12 years. He also worked at Richmond Raceway providing security for 51+ years. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd G. and Goldie P. Taylor and grandson, Logan C. Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Leslie; his children, Ann Marie Taylor, of Oak Harbor, WA, Stephen R. Taylor (Heather), and Christopher J. Taylor (Anna), of Coeur' d Alene, ID; siblings, Lloyd G Taylor, II (Linda), Doris Ann York (David), David L. Taylor (Carrie); and Nancy Sue Busch (Tom); seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rick’s favorite charities, Tunnel 2 Towers or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
