Rachel Nolte West, 91, of Sandston, VA passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter West; brother, James A. Nolte, Sr.; sisters, Ruth Connor and Frances Harman; brother-in-law, James E. West; sister-in-law, Margaret Ann West; step-son, Ronald West; and granddaughter, Tammy Clark.

Rachel leaves to cherish her memory a loving daughter, Sharon Hall (David); grandchildren, Kala Hall (Taylor) and Sherri Via (Rusty); great-grandchildren, Gary Jaffe (Cassie), Joshua Honeycutt, Cara Via and Garrett McCauley; great-great-grandchildren, Andrew and Lynnlee Jaffe; daughter-in-law, Sherry West; niece, Linda L. Nolte; nephews, James Nolte Jr. (Beverly), Thomas Nolte (Jane), Lee Harman (Rachael) and Rick Harman (Diane); and many other loving family members and friends.

She retired from Southern States Cooperative in 1997 with 56 years of service. After retiring, she volunteered at Memorial Regional Hospital, Henrico Doctors Hospital and Feedmore (Meals on Wheels) with 20 plus years of service.

Rachel was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church for 70 years. She was the financial secretary for many years and was also in the church choir along with other roles within the church organization.

She was very active in the community and was a member of several clubs including Confederate Hills Leisure Club, Happy Hearts, Sandston Women’s Club, Young at Heart and Joy Club.

Rachel will be remembered for her loving and giving nature. She will be missed by her family and friends but we know she will be in heaven with her beloved family and friends that passed before her.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Corinth United Methodist Church, Sandston, VA. A memorial service will immediately follow at the church at 11 a.m.

Interment will be at Washington Memorial Park on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 3 p.m.

The family has asked, in lieu of flowers for contributions to be made to Corinth United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 23 W. Williamsburg Rd., Sandston, VA 23150.
